I have had a Telecine of 1408 ever sense the movie was in theaters. Anyway I had blasted it off my harddrive, and my brother wants a copy, so I Downloaded the rip that is out now. It has a completely different movie, with a completely different ending, with that faggot that plays Monk. I wonder how many movies are like this?

I saw the end of Butterfly Effect on TV but missed the first part. I bought the DVD and it ended totally differently but had the alternate endings as special features. Maybe some early screenings prompted them to change the ending. Probably had it in the can waiting to see reactions.

    The Bonfire of the Vanities

Awsome book that should have been required reading in school.

    The Bonfire of the Vanities

One of the worst movies of all time.

I know it was not a movie remake but it was as different as if you were to write a James Bond novel and then make a movie called I donno "Gold Finger" and it be like an Inspector Gadget movie.

Butterfly Effect had multiple endings because at early test viewings the reviewers thought it had too much of a sombre ending.

(SPOILER IF YOU HAVENT SEEN IT LOOK AWAY NOW)

The first ending had the main guy lose everything and He killed himself, which was quite depressing.

The second ending (theatrical I believe) has him fixing most of the problems, and seeing the blonde girl in the street as she passes by, which is the copy I have.

    I think there was another.

I seen the one where he died for everyone else to live.

Which was a good ending. I hate the way hollywood has to make everything a happy ending. My favorite Star Wars episode? The Empire Strikes Back.

    SPOILERS CONTINUED:

    Alternate Endings

    1) He wraps his umbilical cord around his neck and commits suicide (abortion?) as a fetus. His mother screams, "Not again!" Cool - this has happened before.

    2) He sees the girl in the street, wonders if he knows her for a second, dismisses it, and walks on.

    3) He sees the girls, realizes/wonders if he knows her and turns to walk after her (cut because it seemed like he was stalking her)

    4) He sees the girl, wonders if he knows her, dismisses it but still engages her in conversation (cut because we get the feeling its starting again)

What about Clerks original ending? That was terrible.

He wasn't supposed to be there that day.

I thought it was horrible. They took an hilarious movie and then made it shitty and depressing at the end.

I think that was the funniest part of all. Did he say that at the end of the original ending, after he was shot? I cant remember, its been so long since I watched it.

    No. He just died.

Had they done that, they couldn't have come out with Clerks 2, which I still haven't watched. I don't think you can do better than the firs

    RANDAL: How's your eye?
DANTE: (reluctantly) The swelling's not so bad. But the FDS stings. How's your neck?
    RANDAL: It's hard to swallow.

Kevin Smith yanked the original ending because of the shocked responses at early screenings. He was young and trying to make a bold statement. He did the right thing. Clerks 2 was just going back to the well. I own the DVD because of my man-crush on Kevin but it's nothing like the first Clerks.

Kevin Smith is hit and miss. He hasn't made his masterpeace yet. It's still in him. His problem is he tries to make his fans & friends happy.

Clerks 1 was good but it's starting to become dated. It won't hold up another 10 years.

Clerks 2 had some great gags. Pillow Pants, Star Wars Vs. LOTR, The Donkey, & Transformers rant classic.

His best work is Chasing Amy.

I thought Dogma was a cool idea and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back is epic. But then, I'm fascinated just listening to Kevin Smith talk about shit.

Is that the documentary where he went around to a bunch of colleges? I saw that, and I did laugh my ass off.

That's the one. I've seen it twice. I would love to see the vault Prince has all that shit in.

I really only like Clerks. Dogma was long and drawn out, Chasing Amy was too sappy, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back was cheese city.
