    Dazed And Confused

I gratuated in 86 and even though this movie was supposed to be placed in the late 70s I related to it a lot. For instance I'm fairly certian any one of the cars on the show were in our parking lot. Growing up in Texas even the ratio was right about 50 percent trucks. And we pulled simular stunts. Whahooing beer. Had an old farm and road we partied on like in the movie, so many simularities. Good movie I enjoyed it a good bit will probably watch it again. I feel sorry for kids these days cause I don't think they get to have as much fun.

    If you did watch it:
    Can you relate?
Do you think it was basically a remake of American Grafitti?
If you were to be associated with any of the characters who would it be?

Yeah a 21st century version at least one of the characters would likely be some pasty skinned fat society outcast. Who other than a computer screen or magazine has not seen a vagina since he slipped out of his mommas? Desperately looking to gain acceptance and respect in some group and grasping at straws using antics like tattoos, piercing, and so called outrageous statements about human feces and body functions.

Would be a real hoot probably hang around a bunch of other beevis and buthead types. Claim to fame being there unique ring tones. Spending all their time in their bedrooms. Talking about chicks, sex they never did and never will have and shit. That’s literal actually talking about shit. Of course the guy would be kind of like your "flounder, or booger" character from animal house. Or like "Rabbit" from "Butterfly Effect" in the end he puts him self out of his own misery. The audience goes home feeling a little better like maybe they are not such losers after all I mean it could be much worse you know.

What do you think pretty good story line?

I, too, graduated in '86 so it was not entirely my era, but, having been in jr HS in the early 80's I can see many similarities between those characters and the seniors from when I was in 7th grade. There's a good mix of personalities in that movie but I probably relate more to "Freaks and Geeks."

I seen it, but since I graduated in 95 it kinda is way before my time. It was no 'Fast Times at Ridgemnont High' but it was pretty good.

Fast Times at Ridgemont High was cool. I used to sneak and watch it when I was a kid. Losing virginity, jerking off, smoking pot...so scandalous at 11 years old.

Haha! I remember that with the Cars "Life is Strange" song going on. It's been so long I need to go watch Fast Times at Ridgemont again then I can figure out which one was better.

Phoebe Cates emerging from the pool pretty much tips the scales in "Fast Times" favor alone.

    Graduated in 1995?

I graudated high school in 1978. My first day of school was in September, 1965, in Birmingham Alabama. All white kids, and no air conditioning. We had air raid drills where we hid under our desk because of the threat from the "communists." We said the pledge of allegiance, recited prayer, and got our asses beat for chewing gum.

    God I feel old.

As far as the movie....it had some familiar scenes. Overall it was OK. I don't remember feeling especially nostalgic.
