If a conservative doesn’t like guns, he doesn’t buy one.

If a liberal doesn't like guns, he wants all guns outlawed.

If a conservative is a vegetarian, he doesn’t eat meat.

If a liberal is a vegetarian, he wants all meat products banned for everyone.

If a conservative sees a foreign threat, he thinks about how to defeat his enemy.

A liberal wonders how to surrender gracefully and still look good.

If a conservative is homosexual, he quietly leads his life.

If a liberal is homosexual, he demands legislated respect.

If a black man or Hispanic are conservative, they see themselves as independently successful.

Their liberal counterparts see themselves as victims in need of government protection.

If a conservative is down-and-out, he thinks about how to better his situation.

A liberal wonders who is going to take care of him.

If a conservative doesn’t like a talk show host, he switches channels.

Liberals demand that those they don’t like be shut down.

If a conservative is a non-believer, he doesn’t go to church.

A liberal non-believer wants any mention of God and religion silenced. (Unless it’s a foreign religion, of course!)

If a conservative decides he needs health care, he goes about shopping for it, or may choose a job that provides it.

A liberal demands that the rest of us pay for his.

If a conservative slips and falls in a store, he gets up, laughs and is embarrassed.

If a liberal slips and falls, he grabs his neck, moans like he's in labor and then sues.

I get that all the time although I lean more Libertarian. Not that there is anything wrong with Republicans I predominantly vote Republican although my views tilt Libertarian that party has a lot of nuts in reality.

I like Joe, but I think he's a right-wing conservative extremist, probably from the bible belt or some such place?

Aw shucks I like you to Reiz

I'm not so extreme though just picked an odd place it would seem to make a stand for freedom. ;)

Joe this is horseshit. Conservatives don't keep quiet about anything! How many right wing conservatives have protested abortion because "GOD" says its wrong? Conservative homos march at those parades just like liberals. And don't get me started on how the conservatives have tried to shut down "The Howard Stern Show" on so many occasions he finally had to go to Sat Radio in order to avoid them. Doesn't sound like they changed the channel at all.

Face it brother. Conservative or Liberal doesn't define who a person is. It's the choices they make. The "Conservative" you describe is just simply a good hearted human being. And there are those good people on both sides of the fence. There are also assholes.

I'm a libertarian as well. I'm all about abolishing seat belt laws and legalizing pot. Yet I still wear seat belts and don't smoke pot. I do these things because its my choice... but I wouldn't force someone else to do the same. If they wanna risk their life or murder their brain with drugs... let em. It makes them happy. But the minute they come into my house trying to steal something for their next fix... that's when I blast their ass with my 12 gauge Remington all over the door they just walked through. In politics, these things don't mix. Guns and Drugs. But in my mind, it's a fair deal.

You are making more sense than ever lately Cheesepuff.

BTW though watch for the media to start creating the scenarios to make the case for more government control of media like Howard Sterns. While there are some Conservatives that want things that offend their moral sensibilities I happen to disagree with them on that. The big government regulation liberal crowd are just as much behind all that surely you can see this.

That new movie about the Wild Things (or whatever it was called) that Fernando mentioned. You will see a lot of stuff along the same line as this in order to frame the position to stage the case for more government control of the media.

I don't buy into it. Some Conservatives will though. This is why I say I am a Libertarian but vote Republican 90 percent of the time. You see I believe some of the most evil societies int eh world today are those that are restricted by religious fundamentalism. From a morality point of view I believe if a person is forced to do "good" by whomever definition "good" is means nothing. But to have the freedom to do evil but to choose good means everything. And its up to us to have our own moral compass as to what is really good or not.

I'll give you an example and maybe this will sink in. You know the story of Ebeneezer Scrooge from Charles Dickens "A Christmas Carol" surely we all do. Remember Tiny Tim the crippled sickly kid with the big heart of gold.

The kid had character and this was character brought about at least partially by his environment. And the freedom to choose how to see things. Without freedom to do wrong then doing good means little.
