If you like Kevin Smith movies and saw Clerks, this is a must-see. If you don't "get" the whole "Jay and Silent Bob" schtick and/or are easily offended, go see something else. In fact, if you're even somewhat difficult to offend, this movie will provide something that will make you blush. Clerks II provides the same machine-gun fast rapport between the slacker clerks turned fast food workers, Dante and Randal plus a few new characters. It's raunchy, irreverent, and just plain wrong! If you're unfamiliar with J&SB and Kevin Smith, you won't be totally lost but you will miss many inside references to past movies and characters. Smith tackles racism, blasphemy, and beastiality all the while cursing a blue streak. Don't bring the kids. And remember, "You never go ass to mouth."
Thanks for the the review Maj... but I must beg to differ... The first time I heard of this film last year I immediatly decided that this was not a good film for him to revisit. I do think it is worth watching, but it dosn't cover any actual new ground. The movie seems almost as if it is a reboot in the sense that it seems to ignore Dogma and Jay amd Silent Bob Stike back. It had its moments and wasn't horrible, but it wasn't what I wanted it to be. The whole flow of the movie was forced, it seemed as if Smith was just runniong down a list of geek things to argue about. I miss the old Kevin Smith. However, if this is a springboard for him to return to his indie roots I have his back 100%. I actually have some shit I was wiritng for a review of this movie but am sort of kind of all the way to messed up and A.D.D. to put it all down right now. I will however say that this fast food joint Moobeys is the slowest fast food restaurant ever..anywhere. As always. I want to hear more opinions on this movie from anyone who wants to bother... And once again thanks for the inpout Maj..here's a candy bar from the 80's for you..Kudos!
i laughed my ass off. porch monkey, wheelieboy, jay doing the buffalo bill dance, the damn donkey show!!! LOVED IT!
Say, could I interest you in a chocolate-covered pretzel? Sure, Clerks II is too polished (hell, it's in color) in comparison to its grainy predecessor and is a precarious step toward tainting Kevin Smith's indie history. But, in all it's self-indulgence, it was a step toward bringing a new audience to Smith's work. Hopefully, today's 20-something's will grab the DVDs of Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, and J&SB Strike Back (I have them all plus "Jersey Girl"). Also, seeing Jay and Silent Bob again was like a reunion of sorts; I missed those guys. And the dialogue 'twixt the characters in Smith's films are classic. Maybe a sequel should not have been made (since the cartoon tanked) but I'm glad it was. It gave me something to do while my wife's pussy troll is visiting.
pillow pants! hahahaha i was DYING laughing. the whole scene where he's blog message board fighting with cripboy reminded me of myself. anybody seen grandma's boy? HILARIOUS.
No, but that kid who played Elias in Clerks II was great. His whole deadpan delivery on the "Mr. Pillow Pants" bit was awesome. One ring to rule them all!!
