What kind of laptop is it?

9-Cell Dells are running between 80-100 per, from dell, well worth it.

I get about 5 hours on mine.

Batteries plus sells them as well, only tried them on old C600 models Dell wanted an arm and a leg, and they only wanted 90.00

How important is the battery? Mine dies after about 30 minutes now, but I always have it plugged in, so I couldn't care less.

I'm trying to think of the place I bought my cord for my laptop from when the dog chewed it up. They were decent priced and they shipped fast. I'll get back on that.

The battery isn't that important, I just thought it'd be nice to play youtube videos while out on the patio tending to the BBQ...

Lapzone.com is who I bought from. I'd buy from them again. They shipped really fast.

Is 'on the patio attending' to the BBQ code for taking a dump?

Fully charged I get 38 minutes out of my battery.

Does the laptop make your legs fall asleep on the toilet? It does mine.

Fucking thing doesn't have a single scratch on it, and there isn't even any wear on the keys (not even the space bar) - I couldn't believe someone just gave it away. The only problem is that the battery won't hold a charge worth a shit.

Now, Dwayne... I found this battery:

...for $49, and $11 shipping, with a 6 month warranty. Reviews of the standard Dell battery that came with this computer are shitty, apparently, the average livespan of the battery was 14 months.

Now, I've bought other new 'non-OEM' batteries for my digital cameras and even cell phones before, and never had any problems with them. Some even worked better than the original (when I opted for a higher mAh, but the same voltage.)

Even looking at the battery Dell made says 'made in China' - wouldn't it be safe to assume that a company that makes batteries for Dell, in China, could easily keep manufacturing the same battery long after Dell no longer uses them, and sell them through a different retailer, at a lower cost, and make a larger profit?

I think Dell wants $150 for this battery. Is it really worth an extra hundred dollars, just for a fucking battery? Have you ever had one fuck up a laptop before?

Also, I've gotten a few other computers here in the past week, and this is one of two that shipped with XP MCE 2005, but the system tab refers to it as MCE 2002, Service Pack 2 - is that the same thing? The product keys on both of these worked to unlock windows, using MCE 2005 restore discs, so I was just wondering if they just changed the name for marketing purposes?
