I have this weird pulsing, buzzing sound going on in my left ear when turn my head to the right. What could it be?

If I don't get a logical answer, I'm sure I'll get some smartass ones...

I'm thinking possible labrynthitis. Possibly curable with antibiotics.

Could just be tinnitus, but that can be an early symtpom. If it gets no worse, tinnitus. If you begin to feel dizzy and it worsens into labryinthitus (sp?), and gives you vertigo, it will suck out loud.

Thanks. I have been having dizzy spells for a while now.

I had a hole in my eardrum when I was a kid, same ear... always have had problems with it.

Is it pressure from fluid, you think?

If it buzzes when you turn it is probably a nerve being pinched....

.... by a massive brain tumor.

More likely just a side effect of some medicine. Check your prescriptions for side effects. See if that is listed.

It could also be a you left one of your vibrators on under the bed. When your right ear hits the pillow, you hear it.

    If not, Tumor.

    Seriously?

Its not related to any medication.

Its a weird sound that I can actually feel in my ear. Sounds like an electric pulsing. And it's not all of the time, just a certain way I turn.

I still have insurance (because my last employer forgot to cancel it) but I don't want to use it and am waiting to get my new policy started, so I have to wait to do something about it.

If it is a tumor, maybe I'll end up like that guy in the UT tower shooting.

I had them pulled 12 years ago.

I'd do it again because it was the greatest buzz of my life. :p

Check into labyrinthitis, seriously. I had a bout with it years ago. I lost 7 pounds in 4 days as all I did was lay on my side and get up to vomit. The docs gave me something to combat my nausea (no pun) so I still felt a bit dizzy but did not get sick from it. Check it out before it worsens. If it is just tinnitus, it may correct itself. Otherwise, it could make you miserable.

Sorry for joking. It really could just be a nerve being pinched. Tumors are very rare actually, and would buzz all the time and be causing much more problems.

More likely that it is allergy or ear related and will go away on its own.

Dry heat makes allergies worse. Get a humidifier. Clean your ears out with a commercial wash. Also rule out anemia and high blood pressure.

For months I had something similar. I was freaking out because I thought there might be some insect living in my ear.

I finally went to the doctor and they flushed out my ear. They took some warm water and peroxide in a big syringe and kept squirting it in my ear until a giant ball of wax came out.

That's all it was. I heard the buzzing mostly in the morning.

Have you head of those ear "candles?" It's a parrafin tube that you stick in your ear and light. Weird but true. You can get them at GNC.

I've heard of those candles. I read that they were a big scam. :( I have also heard about the flushing of the ear before. Maybe that is my problem because I always jam the fucking Q-tip way back into my ear and I am probably just packing that shit in there really well. I hear it worse when I tilt my head downward and to the side.

Guess I need to suck it up and go to the doctor and get my ear flushed or at least examined. One otolaryngolgist (sp) told me to NEVER put anything in my ear. My GP had given me drops and he told me to trash them.

My dog has an ear infection now. Maybe I should use some of his meds?

This time of year for me means sinus trouble. Sometimes my sinus cavaties start closing up then comes a sinus infection complete with headaches and ear trouble. Just get some Psudophedrine and take a nice dose and see what happenes if it changes for the worse or better. Just a suggestion it is what I would try of course though you know better than anyone what your sinuses are like. My thinking is that when you turn your head like that you could put more or less pressure on your sinurs cavaties on one side or the other.

My guess would've been tinnitus, as well...

I sometimes get that, but it's usually a direct result of pissing off the neighbors with my music.
