Seriously, I'm sick of all these marches for this fucking shit. Is there really anyone in the US that is not aware of it by now.Can we focus on less known conditions like Huntington's or maybe the just as lethal skin cancer which affects both sexes pretty much equally, or are women so stuck up that they only want to focus on the one that poses the most immediate threat to them and their money makers. Well at least they haven't ruined anything that I love yet... God dammit.
Their seems to be a huge disproportionate amount of attention and money and pressure made on behalf of Women’s illnesses and aids. Certainly this is true when compared to the proportion of people affected by these. But the grossest example is aids. You got horny little fagot sex clubs where they play aids Russian roulette. Those same little perverts march on Sunday for more government money and research. Meanwhile innocent children with a cancer that they never asked for get to rot alive. Lets not waste any money on them when we can throw money at rescue all the horny little poodle fags dressed up on fag clothes that bombard our wives home shows with their decorating and cake baking opinions.
Yeah, AIDS is god's way of saying "You fucked up". You completely deserve it unless. A) Born with it. B) Someone shivs you with a knife that also happened to cut an aid's victim. C) Raped, hmm...no. They were the one going out clubbing, they knew the risk.
Aww come on ,women don't like to have their tits chopped of and men just piss and moan if they only have one to play with so this research benefits both..now testicular cancer is another matter, who cares if a bloke looses his bollocks.
I don't think anyone deserves AIDS. I mean, everyone makes mistakes and that's a helluva way to have to pay for it. I also don't have a problem with breast cancer awareness. Like UT said, no woman wants her tits chopped off. The thing that bugs me is when celebrities get involved ONLY when they are someone they love gets afflicted with something. I think all celebrities should pick an illness and do something about it. They have the money, most of us don't. And here we are, hard working people feeling like shit watching the St Judes commericals and donating money that we don't really have to give for it, while fucking PDiddy adds some more diamonds to his cell phone. I guess maybe I take that AIDS thing back. Greedy evil people should get it, but then again, they would be the ones who fork out the money to cure it, BECAUSE celebrities get involved ONLY when they are someone they love gets afflicted with something. Vicious cycle.
We all have to die sometime. Seriously, the only thing we're buying with all that shit is time on Earth. Sometimes the price of staying a couple more months or years is half to a million dollars worth of medical bills. Just die already, if you can't afford it. Here we are fighting the inevitable i.e. cancer aka old age as they used to call it, spending money like it's sand in the sahara. Just makes it cost more for the rest of us healthy folk. I'm not advocating eugenics or anything (even though I'm a huge fan of the idea) but really, unless the person has a good 20-30 years left in them if they've got a chance what's the point of buying them a couple years of time? Especially when you look at the effects of the treatment. My stepdad got cancer of the salivary glands. They radiated his lower brain when they were treating him. His metabolism is all fucked up, has problems with his hemoglobin count all the time. He's almost killed himself a couple of times driving, but they can't get his license yet. He lost 50 lbs and a lot of muscle mass. He's 65 now, he was 62 when he got it, but he looks like he's 80. He lost his lower row of teeth, and he's never recovered his muscle mass. He looks like a bag of dried buttskin, liver spotted with rosacea. He can barely lift anything over 80 lbs, seeing as how he only weighs 138. He had little outbursts before, but now he has rage fits that make him get light headed (no help from me). Usually they're about the dumbest shit, but it's funny to watch him get all pissed off. Oh, did I mention that for the longest time he bled out of his mouth all the time? Now its only a couple times a month, but you should see the sink after he brushes his teeth. You should listen to him eat, he has to chew the crap out of it then hack it up, like a cow chewing the cud. Now he smoked, chewed nicotine gum, and drank all at the same time for years, would you say he had all this coming? Not to mention he worked at a John Deere plant for 32 years, and they say its about 6-7 years on average after they get out that they get cancer. It's a good thing their coverage covered everything, because if it was up to me, well I think you get the picture. He has little charisma, and I'm waiting for him to leave the house feet first. Well, before I make him leave head first.
Hey man he is your dad you know. Although I gues you could say in a way he is not the same dad after all is he. A lot of what you say is true P.C. or not. But blood is thicker than water you know.
Cancer is scary shit. Be it breast, prostate, colon, lung, or any other cancer, it is scary. Mostly because we don't know how to prevent it and can only stop it or slow it down some of the time. I do hope we find a cure that can heal people without almost killing them. My wife has been in the hospital several times (she is there as of this writing) as she undergoes chemotherapy and radidation and has suffered from their side effects. We have another several months of chemo, radiation, doctor visits, and surgery just to get to the point where we wait to see if it comes back. If you don't have the money to donate to cancer research, then at least do some research of your own. It may help you or someone you know detect it early enough to address it. But if you are simply annoyed at the sight of pink ribbons, then get over yourself.
Major Sorry to hear about the ordeal your wife and you are going through. I really just wanted to use the topic as a segway to find reason to bitch about promiscuous homosexuality and the silly idea that if they act irresponsibly and in doing so contract Aids that it is acceptable for them to selfishly desire proportionately more funding than for instance cancer. As for the female/women’s angle, while I understand they also do get a disproportionate amount of funding by comparison to for instance a male related illness like testicular cancer. The difference is nominal and the idea of putting them in the same category as Gays is certainly not fair. Please except my apologies had I considered the comparison thoughtfully I would not have made it. And certainly not with respect to your situation.
No apology needed I wasn't singling you out, Joe. I guess because I followed your post it may have seemed so but I meant anyone in general. I won't abuse the "cancer card" to get a pass here at Fugly. I just break out in a rant from time to time. Game on.
Actually I did not think you were Major, however you get an apology none the less. It has got to be hell to go through any kind of cancer.
The difference is that HIV is a communicable disease and as such is a tremendous threat to all adults, not to mention children who are born to infected adults. The largest growing sector of HIV-infected people is young heterosexual women.
Any innocent person that gets it in my opinion falls under the same sympathetic umbrella as this innocent kids with cancer. However remember AIDS IS a preventable illness.
