if you've never seen his show it'll be THAT much better, if you en dup watching it tell me what u think
I heard him on one of the late shows refer to the view of a person defecating as "a sideways smiling face with a cigar." Sophomoric toilet humor is boring and degrading. If that's his "A" game, I don't care to hear the rest.
I've had the unfortunate luck to see both the show and the film, it's just amalgam of jackass and tom green type humor that dosn't work. I'm sure all the people in high school simply adore him, but it's just crap that no one will even remember in 5 years.
That's because in some way we can all relate to him. In high school we either knew someone like him, or worse, we were like him. Although the movie was stupid and simplistic, it still held an attraction because of the familiar feel. Borat is not relatable. He is probably not even relatable in his own imaginary country. I am sick of him already, and have only seen him once.
Actually I have seen the movie and thought it was great, I can realte to alot of the things a person comming to America might encounter for the first time. American's aren't the most welcoming bunch. Although, I can only speak for the states I worked in before I cut ties, Ohio, South Carolina, Florida, Boston, NYC, Nashville, and San Francisco, I found it hard to believe that California shares the same country as the rest of the states. I find it hard to understand that you as an American can't relate to borat, he is rude, arrogant, intolerant of other people, ignorant, racist and an anti-semite, also he is very patriotic, something most American's only like when it's Americans. The joke was on the Yanks, the best part of the movie.
Dude, that is so me. Good to see you again, Checkers. I haven't seen Borat yet but may wait for the DVD or at least PPV. I like some of SBC's Ali-G, his voice-over in Madagascar, and his role in Talladega Nights so I'm not opposed to the movie even though I guess I am the butt of its humor. Anyway, I think toilet humor is the "shit."
You people spend way to much time analayzing the obvious, especially when it isn't even done very well... but carry on.
I saw "Gone with the Wind" when I was six, and heard a person say "damn" on the screen. My grandmother died that night. I saw "Dirty Harry" at age 14, and gaped at my first set of non familial female breasts. That has affected me to this day. I saw "Smokey and the Bandit" when I was 16, and experienced my first urge to kill people that are just stupid. I mean, if you want to smuggle beer into Georgia, why not just drive the speed limit? I saw "The Omen" at age 18, and had nightmares for months. I am still scared of Rottweilers. I watched "Animal House" at age 21, and learned that it requires closing one eye to really enjoy a movie when you are drunk. I watched "Raising Arizona" at age 25, and learned for the first time that stupidity is hilarious. I saw " Fried Green Tomatoes" at 31, and I still cry every time I watch it. I have no idea why. I watched "Swingblade" for the 40th time last night. "I aim to kill you with it" is the greatest line ever in a movie. I told you all this to get to this point - Borat sucks.
i HAD chime with response. Borat excellent movie and welcome own DVD. I have ass laughing splinters while watch. DvD look like fake when seen case, but is not! Free T-shirt make for all welcome bonus when buy. ----As for the Napoleon Dynamite references, I can't see it. I really tried to give Napoleon Dynamite a chance, I really did. The bottom line - that movie sucked. Period. It had it's moments, few and far between, but to compare it to the magnificent venture that is Borat is... well, not niiiice. I give this movie a thumbs up, and I'm going to roll a joint and watch it again tonight.
