Spring training for pitchers and catchers will start in about a week, any early predictions as to who are going to be the teams to kick a little ass this year?

Im listening to the news and they just anounced that Manchester United football club and NewYork Yankies are joining forces for a big marketing campaign...Maybe we may see some baseball over here in the U.K...Good or bad im not sure I think there is enough American stuff on our T.V as it is...Not much USA sport though.
Im gonna go Yankies(only cos I dont know any others,is Redsox another?) to win this year anyway...keep me updated as to how they get on...

Well the Yankees are a damn good team; they prove that year after year in the World Series, in fact they are the best team money can buy. Ill give you a little run down on the Yankees. Their owner, George Steinbrenner, has the largest payroll in major league baseball. The 2000 season payroll was $114,336,616, that’s a shit load of money, and its only going to be higher this year. They just signed one of their players, Derek Jeter, to a 10-year a $189 million dollar contract. That is the second
Largest in sports history behind Alex Rodrigues that got a 250 million-dollar contract over 10 years, but he plays for another team.

To me the salaries are getting way out of hand, nobody is that good to command over 100 million dollars to play baseball, or any other sport for that matter. Now IM not a fan of the Yankees but I watch them close every year to see what the competition is going to be for my team...IM an Atlanta Braves Fan, but I have a lot of respect for the Yankees.

To answer your other question, yes the Red Sox are a baseball team, In fact ill give you a list of all the baseball teams in both leagues, not that you give a shit but im board with nothing do.
