I do have to admit that blaming a failing dollar on a puny blog is weak.
But there seems to be people who take notice in such stories. Remember in the Bush era when the Dixie Chicks said that the war was wrong blahblah? Well the administration slammed them by saying that "criticizing the efforts of the president in a public forum, undermines the army's efforts and emboldens the terrorists". Yeah right, Osama is lying in wait to see what the Dixie Chicks are gonna say next.

In business you learn that people always externalize their failures: a blogger fucked up the economy, the media hates us, etc... While internalizing succes: all thanks to me that the economy is better, etc...
It's nothing new, just the same old shit.

Really you got any quotes on that?

Which one of the "Administration" said it?

    Was it GW himself?

I can find quotes, but I believe pretty much everybody said something like that, from the White House Press Secretary to Cheney in interviews, and most right-wing radio talkshow hosts.

Well then it should be easy to get a quote then.

Get going. Or IamtheLaw will be lecturing you on defamation of character lawsuits.

    Jobless claims dent recovery hopes

Initial claims jump 11,000 to 531,000

Initial claims jump 11,000 to 531,000, much more than expected.

So what sould we do? Sit on our asses wishing things were like the way they were in the 50s? "Meet Frank, he just came back from a hard day at the office and his wife Suzie has dinner prepared for him, roast pork, his favorite".
Now picture that in black and white.

Things were good back then. But times are a changing my friend. Outdated values and wistful thinking doesn't get you anywhere. Liberalism is about recognizing that the world change and that we must stay on top, culturaly, socially, scientifically, and democratically.

That is retarded are you just stuck on stupid or what?

Look its the socialism of the schools that bring the education level down so what to propose? MORE SOCIALISM

Its socialism that brings thehealth care system down and runs cost up so what to propose? MORE SOCIALISM

Yes that is right. The health insurance you bitch about. Well guess what? ITS A FORM OF SOCIALISM think about it.

The automotive industry making shit ass cars for to much money. That is because of the unions. The unions are SOCIALISM.

Unions have served the everyday workers for a long time, preventing tyrannical bosses from abusing his employees, or having children work 12 hours days.

So tell me Captain Capitalist, how do you fix it? Obviously the way the country has been running since it's creation doesn't really work, schools are fucked, health is fucked, social security is fucked, running on a conservative system all along.

It's easy to point the finger at liberals and shout: SOCIALISTS! But what the fuck have you done? What have the conservatives done? Under Bush things weren't better, under Reagan things weren't better, the education was fucked back then and it's fucked right now.

All you conservatives do is sit on your fat asses wistfully thinking that the free-market will solve everything; you got cancer and no coverage? Too bad. You have a child born with deformities? Tough luck. Schools are struggling to keep up? Life's a bitch.

Is your precious free-market gonna cure your cancer when you're 75? No.
Are tax breaks to the rich gonna solve the education crisis? No.

Conservatives are out of their fucking minds. When I die and the Lord judges me He will say: "Dominick, you tried to keep the merchants out of the temple, you tried to help the poor, you looked upon all men as though they are equal."
He will turn to you and say: "Joe, you spat on the poor and served the rich, you renounced Me and the teachings of my only begotten Son."

But then again, the Bible is liberal no? Isn't what conservapedia is saying? The Lord's Word is not good enough for conservatives? You guys are fucked.

Yes since they went to public schools we went from top of the heap to where we are now.

Guess what? Public funded schools = Socialism.

Yes a public health system is a Socialized system, The idea of insurance is Socialist idea "all insured share the financial risk"

I just had to put the whole quote there, just read it and think about what you just said.

    Sure they were.

    *Sigh*

    .

Not a problem for Conservatives who do not depend on the public system to educate their kids but take an active participation themselves. That is what Conservatives do they get off their asses and "git er done".

Not like liberals that courageously vote to throw somebody's money at the school problem while keeping a ticht grip on their own.

Take a look at medical innovation and compair free market advancements againsr Socialism's medical advancements. Then come back to have this same discussion.

No parents getting off their asses and helping their kids learn to read, write, and do their arithmetic will educate the kids.

So even insurance is socialist? Dude, you're out of your fucking mind

The part that says all running on a conservative system is applied to the whole sentence; shoulda have a semi-collin but I missed it

So the whole world hating our guts is good? Spending $700billion on a war that has no end in sight is good? *Sigh

What if you're from a low income family? You don't go to school?

But really Joe, all you did was pick at what I said. You didn't answer the most important question.

How the fuck do you fix it? Get rid of the government? Tell me how that would work. No court system, 'cause it's liberal. No social security, God forbid we help people in need. No healthcare, if you're sick you better have money.

So without all these things we have ourselves a true conservative utopia. How do you run it?

Since you're the mighty voice of "how things should be done", why don't you tell me what exactly is a conservative country? When millions have died 'cause they didn't have money to get medicine, when the lower-income class is wiped out 'cause they starved to death; what are you gonna do? Sit back and be proud of yourself?

I don't know about you but I'm a religious person; most of my political beliefs come from the Bible. Here are a few examples:

He will regard the prayer of the destitute, and not despise their prayer.
    (Psalm 102:17)

He that tilleth his land shall have plenty of bread: but he that followeth after vain persons shall have poverty enough.
    (Proverbs 28:19)

For he shall deliver the needy when he crieth; the poor also, and him that hath no helper. He shall spare the poor and needy, and shall save the souls of the needy.
    --Psalm 72:12-13

"Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy."
    -Proverbs 31:8-9

When you die and stand in front of God; and He asks why you didn't uphold the Bible above all; what are you gonna say? My god is the free-market?

Still ignoring the question: how do you fix it? You're really good at picking at what I say. But I don't see you bringing anything to the table.

The answer is there if you care to look.

Not that America's healthcare is not top notch its the best in the world still. But it was better when the government kept their hands off of it. The more government intervention the worse it gets.

How do you define topnotch? Sure some of the best hospitals in the world are american; but in terms of accessibility we are not.

Healthcare is more than just making a buck, the very core principle of it is to provide care and service to people that are sick; no?

Doesn't it bother you that a shit load of people can't afford the care they need? Are you that heartless? Does loving your country mean leaving people to die? Fellow americans?

In my book, you're the traitor. You robbed america of it's dream; you let it be governed not by a fair government but by corporations and wall street hounds. You spat in God's face in favor of your almighty dollar.

You're a traitor, a heathen, I am ashamed of people like you. You give this Christian nation a bad name, you are a coward for refusing to face the Truth. You spat on the teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Go fuck yourself, and when you're burning in Hell, I'll be smiling at you from the Heavens; you godless dog.

Oh look, Joe found a new playmate. You two be nice before someone has to pull over the forum and reach back and smack ya. Both of ya have it right and , yes , pretty wrong as well. most of these arguments anymore seem to be about talking points. Seems like when anyone does search for the truth anymore, it ends up being clouded by arguments and those who might not like what is being said. then again, it has been like that for ages. i really dont thinks will ever change much either. kinda sad.

True enough, my position is uncomprimising. Help the needy and the poor, regulate the banking system to avoid another financial crisis, and more funding to social programs and hospitals to keep them open.

These are talking points indeed, but this all we can do; talk.
