Anybody here ever owned an "Apex" brand TV set? I know their DVD players have a high failure rate, but I've never heard anything about their TVs... I recently picked up a 32" Zenith at work, the green gun goes in and out, and I don't feel like fucking with it, so I'm going to take it back - but in the few days I've had it, I got quite accustomed to the size... There's a 32" Apex on sale at Sam's right now for $300, and I'm thinking about getting it as a 'tide-me-over' until I have the room for a HD widescreen. The Apex has a flat screen, comb filter, component/s-video/composite inputs - never seen one with all that shit so cheap... Hate to buy a cheap TV that'll go out in a few years, but don't want to spend a bundle when I'll just be upgrading it in a year or so... Thoughts?
Man I'd spend the extra 150 or so on the Sony of the same size, it has a better picture better sound and a better resale value. Thats what I got sitting in the living room and I almost bought the APEX too. Fuck man I have been meaning to call you, I just can't remeber why right now and it seemed important.... nope I got nothing. Serioulsy though, spend he few extra bucks.
Think of it this way, in a year that APEX will be relativly worthless while the Sony will get you a few hundred.
HAHA SONY, that'd be the day... If they make shitty DVD players, what makes you think that they wouldn't fuck up a TV? Whatever you do, don't buy a Philips. I have a 27 inch in my bedroom that makes funny noises when the background on the tv is someone bright. But I did buy the display model and it only cost me 179 bucks. There's a 30 inch wide screen HD in the living room that's doing okay... it's a Philips too, but I still think Philips suck. I have an Apex DVD player I bought for 35 bucks and I don't have any probs with it. If you have the 300 bucks to spend on it, go for it. It'll last you for a while and you'll get good use out of it. Just buy the warranty.
Well that shining endorsement from one so in the know should clear that up for you. Dean Koontz is a good author and APEX TVs are good too....
Because of course the world is exactly how Schmed sees it. His opinions mirror reality.... Sorry Schmedders, not sure how you can make an asssociation between choice in authors and the quality of a television.
I was simply establishing a standing record of bad judgement, but I wouldn't expect an ill informed twat like you to understand that. But you got the first part right, I am right.
Wait wait, I take the twat part back, I don't really feel like argueing on the interent about a TV, so just read the bad judgement part aqnd see if ya get me.
So its impossible to say be good at judging one thing and bad at another? Well fuck, that means that say if a doctor reads that Koontz fella you hate then hes gonna fuck up and make bad judgements in the operation theater? Thats my point, i don't need to insult you to make it either.
Ok, in light of your last statement I re-insate the ill informed twat part. I tried to play nice....... No serioulsy though, the APEX shit sucks, I had looked into it when purchasing my shit, and I was just bagging on Barfy. Now go die.
I promise, although i give no guarentees about the time it will take me to die.... now bend over like a good boy.
I'm really not concerned with the resale value of the TV... Eventually I'm going to throw down for a nice projection widescreen for the living room, and the 32" would be delegated to the bedroom for video game use (since most of my games/systems don't make use of 16:9 anyway). I've read mixed reviews online, I think if I would buy it, I'd go for an extra year or two of warranty just in case. I've seen that 30" philips widescreen - I really like that one, and I've got a 19" TV/VCR combo that I won in a drawing about 3 years ago - never had any problems with it, has a great picture. Must... have... new... teevee... Schmed - how many times are you going to need me to send you that song back, anyway? This is the second time you've lost it...
