I found this deal through Shopping dot com, I wanted a 2.1 sub unit to carry with my Zune in the studio. I found this unit at amazon.com. So i am kinda excited to see a 75 watt RMS unit that will plug into a zune, with 22Mhz response, thats pretty deep bass, for under $30. Anyone used Coby electronics before? Any good or horror stories? Oh also they are running a special, anything over $25 at amazon they eat the postage, which on this unit, it's $9.77. I save Ten bucks, I'll review this unit when it comes in
The only time I've ever seen that brand is either at Big Lots or Walgreens (mainly Walgreens, I think).
I know it's a knock off brand, but I have noticed they are decent quality (like Jensen or Fulton) It states 89 Watts RMS (continuous) not peak power, and the cheap sub systems that are LOUD are usually just 12W RMS or 35W peak. So if its crap, Im just out 30 bones, I'll stick to my Klipsche 6.1 at home, but I was looking for a semi-portable solution to bumping the new Justin Timberlake Mp3's to pick up pre-school prostitutes.
Coby sound quality is okay, not the best but good for the money. I have a pretty decent Altec setup that was around 40 in my office that hit really good and dont distort at high volumes. Plus the convenience of the remote 'control' is nice. https://usm.channelonline.com/ntw/firefly/Products/Overview/?id=M003939693 It is very good, plus the speakers come with stands, or you can mount them on the wall.
I like Altec products, I would have probably gotten that if I hadn't ordered the other one. I'll do a review on it today, as I just checked the tracking, When i ordered it said it was "free" value shipping, would take 12 to 18 days to deliver, but the tracking says it will be here today, not bad for 2 day shipping
I like that, 'value shipping', I am going to have to start using that on eBay, still charge 25.00 but give the item to a crackhead with a bike to deliver. @3/4 volume these bitches rock (AC/DC Back In Black) @3/4 volume with 'T-Pain' "Im in love with a stripper" bass response isnt that great. I had to adjust the bass down, but it is pretty good with the bass set at about 50%. @3/4 DMX "Tear it Up" Sounds really good. Bass was too high for this hip hop stuff.... I would buy these for the house, but I dont listen to the PC at home. And Johnny Cash sounds pretty good with it too.... <edit>
