I have a friend that a few years ago went on a tour of WWII concentration camp sites in Europe. Can only imagine the impression and atmosphere of some of the death camps..and yeah, the aura..the aura of death and evil. That pic of the building had an aura of death..and that was before I read in a later post how many people died there..didn't mean to get all 'new agey' on ya, but that's just me. I visited Belsen and Auschwitz when I was posted to Germany. Very eerie places, no birds sing even though they'rre both surrounded by thick woods and at Belsen there is no grass, just a thick purple type of heather, as the 'prisoners' ate all the grass and deprived the soil of vital nutrients. As for the fuckers who deny the holocaust took place, I'd gladly take a baseball bat to them.
Amen Dubya. Lost one of my Grandfathers there, and some family members..not Jewish, but hid Jews. I hear that people visit Auschwitz, but few go to Birkenau, where most of the killing actually took place, and that is sad. If ever I go to Europe, I want to go to some of these places to pay respects. I hear that at one of the camps, there was a hollow depression filled with ashes the fuckin nazis had dumped, that became a lake ..a grey lake..I can't think of anything more sad than that lake for some reason..
