Have you ever noticed that (in America) a police office is not allowed to ticket someone outside of his jurisdiction? Or that a State Police ofiicer cannot cross State lines to arrest a felon? Or even that your neighbor cannot build his house even one inch over on your property?

Boundaries are those invisible walls that enforce order on society.

One of the reasons I get so upset at people who bash Amerca is because of the boundary violations. These people sit outside the bounds of our country, yet they would like to dictate how we maintain law and order.
It is the same as a cop from Canada or Mexico trying to cross the border and arrest someone. Hey, we appreciate your good intentions, but keep your ass on your side of the fence. If you have a legitimate complaint that a crime has been committed, go through the proper channels to register it. Our People will handle it. Don't sit on the other side of the fence and take pot shots at the leaders and people. We call that terrorism.

It is naive to assume that the US can't or won't police itself. Don't we have more people people in prison than any nation on Earth? Does that sound like a nation that lets people get away with murder? (Even O J Simpson was eventually convicted, the civil courts succeeding where the criminal courts failed.)

I can hear you now screaming that the war in Iraq is a boundary violation. Let me see if I can help you understand the diiference.
The boundary violation occurred when Iraq invaded Kuwait, who is an ally of the US. Did you know that the US embassy in Kuwait is considered soveriegn US soil? Do you think lobbing scud missles unprovoked into Israel is a boundary issue?
The overthrow of Saddam was simply a continuation of that war, due to his repeated violations of the inspections agreements. The fact that he was sympathetic to terrorist and may have had WMD's did not hurt the decision to remove him, but the decision would have come anyway. Violations of boundaries justify measures to insure that boundaries are observed the next time.

It is a nice concept that boundaries make good neighbors. Lets show respect for each other by honoring boundaries.

ok barry so let me try to soak all this in, according to you the fact that the US (as well as pritty much EVERY other country in ter world) has an embassy in kuwait means that they're entitled to a peice of Iraq? what about the countries that had embasies in Iraq? how about afghanistan? Yugoslavia, infact if memory serves a US cruise missle actualy HIT the chinese embassy in yugoslavia killing CHINESE citizens,

"If you have a legitimate complaint that a crime has been committed, go through the proper channels to register it."

are you kidding me? proper channels? in afghanistan some american pilots killed 4 Canadian soldiers and all they got... a fucking letter of repremand, which is the same punsishment they give to soldiers who've gained too much weight, what's this A DOUBLE STANDARD?!?!?! FOR AMERICANS?!?!?!? WHY I NEVER.......

"Don't sit on the other side of the fence and take pot shots at the leaders and people. We call that terrorism. "

ever heard of freedom fries? what did that whole movement spark? anyone call americans terrorists for that?

"It is naive to assume that the US can't or won't police itself. Don't we have more people people in prison than any nation on Earth? Does that sound like a nation that lets people get away with murder?"

the double standard can scarcely apply when both parties are american so that whole argument goes *flush*

"Violations of boundaries justify measures to insure that boundaries are observed the next time. "

so as you state nations should be allowed to conduct business as they see fit on their own soil as long as they aren;t committing genocide and etc... Explain to me then what gave the US the right to go to the UN to ask permission to bomb yugoslavia, get denied, then instead of respecting the decision made by countries who were much better rehearsed in european matters, what do they do? they go to NATO. do you know how that conflict started initially? the albanian population of kosovo became dominant after world war 2 after they allied themselves with the germans and kicked out the majority of the serbs, that combined with a ridiculous birthrate eventually led them to being about 90% majority of the region in which Serbs have been living since the fifth century, they decide they don't like the serbian 10% so beatings become common, people being oppressed in their own country in their own fatherland, a leader of the dominant terrorist group gets holed up in his house with his family, doesn;t surrender, gets shot the fuck up (i wouldn;t advise u say anything about this coughWACOcough)... his killign starts widespread terrorism against serbs, yugo government calls in the army to subdue what they fear will be another civil war, a tide of refugess get created they start fleeing to their native albania.... AND THEN for some UNKNOWN reason AMERICA starts bombing yugoslavia YET AGAIN, where in this story was american soil mentioned? american lives? so why did you cross on to OUR land, hop over OUR fence, why don't YOU show respect for someone else in the world and honor their boundaries, all you do is bitch and complain how no one likes you, guess what barry there are VERY GOOD REASONS and just because CNN won't tell you what these reasons are doesn't mean that you have the right to belittle anyone
