Patients Examined this week by LGOY as a 2nd yr med student

    Crack addict 36 yr old black female. Emaciated with a perianal abcess 5 inches in diamter swollen up to the size of a tennis ball emitting pus. Abcess secondary to insulin dependent diabetes secondary to operation to remove 85% of patients pancreas following bouts of chronic pancreatitis due to drinking pint of whiskey a day. Said female is 5'2 and 85 lbs with sunken in facial features due to failure to maintain nutritional status likely due to crack cocaine habit. Patient suffering from severe malnutrion and high blood glucose levels due to failure to take insulin therapy as indicated by Hemoglobin H1AC test. Prognosis: extremely poor

    4o Yr old morbidly obese white male truck driver5'8 (305 lbs) with right sided heart faiure leading to severe peripheral edema. Edema manifested in legs and scrotum. Scrotum was swollen up the sized of a small volleyball. Patients suffering from hyperlipedemia, high blood pressure, and adult onset diabetes secondary to morbid obesity. Unable to auscultate patient's heart sounds due to morbid obesity. In addition patient unable to fit on table to get MRI scan. Scrotal area covered with white fungus (Candidiasis) with extremely unpleasant odor. Shining flashlight through patients edematous scrotum indicates no herniatin of bowel. Non-insulin dependent diabetes. Prognosis: Poor

    No can do.... Taking pictures of patients is strictly offlimits for 2nd yr med students.
