its hard to compare...I mean, this one has the end, ya know? I like the fight scenes more, and it didn't seem to drag out as much. I don't remember if the theme music was as over used in this one...I'll go see it again tomorow and let ye know =)
T3 was great for sfx... but lets be realistic... didn't hold a damn candle to T2 story-wise... I hope lotr is better than that
anything that makes middle aged men, want to dress up in borderline gay outfits and have swordfights straight pisses me off. i read in the newspaper that the lord of the rings series is the new "star wars blockbuster" scene. and yes...that brings all the bad stuff that implies. idiots speaking in not only klingon, but elvish now. people who haven't been to the dentist in 12 years are out snobbing people because they are wearing a "tunic." i tell ya what, i like the movies and all, but this is honestly sad. and frodo and sam are gay. and legolas has tendencies.
I saw it last night too. I think I would have liked it more if I had seen the first two. Sort of like reading the last of those Harry Potter books without reading the previous ones first. One thing I'll give it, it's long. If you base your impression of a movie on how much time you spend in the theater, you'll love this one. I think it broke down to under 2 bucks per hour. Oh, and that chick from Hanson with the bow and arrows was hot too.
it is an awesome movie. Lomo, there isnt going to be a nice leak like last year as the academy isnt going to be giving DVD screeners this year due to all the leaks last year, those fuckers...

Oh just go to a matinee Lomo. No one will bite you as long as you don't make fun of their cloaks. "So was it good?" "Well...it was long." I've been hearing this all fucking week and I don't see how the length of a movie is any sort of critism for Return of the King. I was never sitting in my seat, tapping my foot wondering when it would be over. God, I wonder how long the extended version will be? I might be getting ahead of myself here.
when i saw the first one in the theatre, i then realized that movies CAN be too long. that one was only what, 2 1/2 hours? and this one is 3 1/2? i think that saying "it's long" is a perfect way to critique a film. and, i haven't seen it yet by the way. i'm waiting til monday to go catch the last installment of the fag master tolkien's flicks. it's the only time during the week when i have enough time to put aside for this beast.

According to Sir Ian Mclellan (Gandalf, you thick fucks) the extended DVD (Nov 04) will be about 5 hours long.

quote:
Originally posted by Cough Syrup: Have we all seen it yet?

not i, i tried to go see it but the fuckin line was forever long. i walk up and ask this guy if it was the lne for LOTR: RoTK and he said yeah but the this is the first line, he pointed down the hall and said thats the second. the trillogy is good but im not the one to wait at the ass end of a second like to to have my head stuck in a upright position.
this movie was kind of disappointing to me. i'm not gonna say what i disliked about it, due to the fact that some people here haven't seen it. i'll just say that i liked the second one better. and i liked the last samurai (aka dances with samurai's) more than any of the three.
