It seem do not like pippy.. Evil Has a Name Within the Pippi Film Cycle, which includes Pippi Longstocking, Pippi in the South Seas, Pippi Goes on Board, Pippi on the Run and the American The All New Adventures of Pippi Longstocking and Astrid Lindgren's Pippi Longstocking (animated), there is a single reference to the full name of the Lord of Lies, which she herself revealed when beckoned to do so at the command of one of her mortal adversaries. It is "PIPPILOTTA VIKTUALIA RULLGARDENA KRUSMYNTA EPHRAM'S DAUGHTER LONGSTOCKING." Her lineage from the cannibal king Ephram, son of Fabian, will become significant later, as will her mother's status as "an angel in heaven." But the name itself, etymologically, reveals much that can benefit the observer. PIPPILOTTA Breaking apart the first of the Swedene's names, we find two compelling arguments for the Satanic incarnation hypothesis. First, "Pippi," derived most likely from the Old French term "pepin," sourced back to the thirteenth century, means "seed of a fleshy fruit." She is therefore born of man, or rather fallen man, since the term "pepin" also refers to an apple, the forbidden fruit into which Adam and Eve sunk their teeth at the bequest of the serpent. Second, "Lotta," or "lata" (or latah), a Malay word connoting a form of religious hysteria known to the Java cult, is characterized by, according to the Oxford English Dictionary, "a rapid ejaculation of inarticulate sounds and a succession of involuntary movements." Thus the girl's rhymes and dances take on a new meaning: She is not dancing a jig or flamenco as she chants her "tra-la-la"s, but she is rather writhing about involuntarily in an heretical spasm while spewing out a blasphemous liturgy. "Lotta" likely also connotes the Incan "Lautu," a band of twisted cotton worn about the head signifying royalty. Thus the twists in her hair are no longer braids, but an intertwining of the seven crowns of the Antichrist. Before we go any further, an important note on this treatment of the Pippi Cycle: We must, as with the literature of any culture, take an intertextual approach to the literature of Sweden. Swedish, being an Indo-European language, shares its vocabulary in one way or another with most Western languages, and all of these languages share many characteristics, particularly when it comes to word derivation. Thus, if our heuristics seem pointed, one need only refer to the commonalities that all Indo-European languages share, despite superficial temporal and topographical differences. There are, essentially, very fuzzy boundaries between Western languages, particularly Germanic ones, such as English, German, Dutch and Swedish. It is not a stretch to write, for example, that the English "mother" shares a common ancestry with (or is "cognate" with) the Sanskrit "matar," the Greek "meter," the Latin "mater," the Old Irish "mathir," the Lithuanian "mot," the Russian "mat" or the Swedish "moder." It is, then, not indulgence, but a thorough understanding of linguistic principles that one must bring to this sort of reading of a text. VIKTUALIA The devil-girl's second name is no less telling. "Vik," cognate with the Latin "vici," meaning "I conquer," is combined with "Tualia" in a most unholy union. The fallen angel Tual, a zodaical angel, is invoked in the use of magic and is associated with Asmodel. Thus Viktualia signifies the phrase "I, the fallen angel Tual, have conquered through the use of sorcery." RULLGARDINA More obscure perhaps than her first and second names is the little Satan's third. "Ro" (English "rol," meaning "rest") is Old Norse and Swedish for "peace," while "Gardina" is simply "garden." Thus we have "peace garden." But "Gardina" also has another meaning. The angel "Gardon" is invoked in the benediction of salt, according to The Greater Keys of Solomon. So when combined with her previous name, the significance becomes clear (see below). There has been much debate over the meaning of the word "gardina," and it has been argued that the modern Swedish meaning--"curtain"--might seem the more immediate and, therefore, more relevant explanation for the Swedene's name derivation. In fact, some have even gone so far as to suggest a diabolical association with "curtain," particularly the implication that the shades have been drawn over the light of truth. As tempting as it might be to accept this explanation (especially in light of the fact that the actual modern Swedish word for garden is "tradgard"), we must take into account the grammatical constuction of the word "gardina," namely that it is the ablative form and, therefore, could not fit. Thus we are left inextricably with the "garden" explanation, though further scholarship could, admittedly, reveal otherwise. KRUSMYNTA There is a simple meaning here: "Krusmynta" (English: "Creminta") is derived from the Old French "cremetous" or "cremeus," the roots of "Cremer," whose Modern French equivalent, "craindre," means "to fear." EPHRAM'S DAUGHTER LONGSTOCKING The significance of "Ephram's Daughter" (Ephramsdotter) is also clear. Pippi has stated that her mother is "an angel in heaven" and that her father is "lost" or "away in the South Seas," an obvious reference to a fall from grace into hell. She is thus a spawn of an angel and a devil made flesh. "Longstocking" (LŒngstrump) simply signifies the long stockings Pippi wears to cover up her goat legs. Thus, in total, the name and meaning of the beast is revealed in Pippi Longstocking: "I, THE FALLEN ANGEL TUAL, BORN OF THE SEED OF MAN AND DEVIL, HAVE CONQUERED THE GARDEN OF PEACE THROUGH FEAR AND SORCERY WITH MY UNHOLY MAGIC, AND I HAVE PLANTED SALT [IN] THE GARDEN [SO] THAT THE FRUIT OF BLISS MAY NO LONGER GROW, AND I NOW RULE OVER MAN WITH MY SEVEN CROWNS."
