She was married to Tom Waits for a while way back when. She does jazz stuff. Covered "Bye Bye Blackbird" and a Jimi Hendrix tune called "Up From the Skies" she is probably most known for "Chuck E's in Love" and "We Belong Together". It's older stuff (70's) and more chick music. not rock like at all. Her album "Girl at Her Volcano" is all covers. I thought of her because I saw a vintage t-shirt for sale of hers from 1986 for sale on the net for $32.

The one that sticks out in my mind was Blood Axis doing a cover of "The Hangman and the Papist", originally done by the 70's folks group Changes....and that folk song from "The Wicker Man" movie sung by the naked girl, a group called Nature and Organisation did a great cover of that.

Beyond that, try Richard Cheese's "Lounge Against the Machine" CD....pretty fucking goofy.

..from beoynd the walls it came. Pouring over the stairs the transparent void of sound headed towards my bedroom door, a cascade of porcelin echos and hectic breathing produced by a shivering body of carbon that I call my friend. It was not my fault he is in his situation, for I am merely the messenger. It was the fault of a man, if, i can really ever place any blame on the individual who reminded us; Sparky. Instead blame should be placed on the man that brought this foul abomination onto our world; GOD

LORD...... Why the fuck did you create George Michael??

Uhh... There is a live version (or used to be a live version) of Tool doing Pink's Floyd's, "Wish You Were Here". (ON AG) It sounded like a bootleg, so it's pretty hard to hear.

    NON METAL/INDUSTRIAL COVERS
Sonic Youth released an album... Ciccone Youth The Whitey Album. They cover "Get Into The Groove" (madonna) Tom Watts does, "Burnin' Up" (madonna) and Kim Gordon (bassist and sometimes singer of SY) does a version of "Addicted To Love" (robert palmer)

Cake does a cool version of "I Will Survive"

Now back to the subject at hand...

Uhh... Disturbed does, "Shout" (tears for fears)

Of course Marilyn Manson is doing, "Tainted Love" (soft cell)

Anal Cunt, "Breaking The Law" (judas priest)
For a bunch of Judas Priest covers look URL=http://www.lysator.liu.se/~priest/coversongs.html]here.[/URL]

    Merry Christmas Lomo!!

Pennywise did a couple of covers... Err... I think California Dreaming and Stand by me. Don't quote me on that they may have been done by Less than Jake... But Im pretty sure it was Pennywise.
Less than Jake have done stuff like... Proclaimers... Cheers theme and that Bryan Adams brain fizzing song that was in the charts forever and the Aerosmith one for that film.... They were all ok for a mediocre band... It may have been MXPX actually... cant remember...oops.

Not metal or shit but extremly good for what it is, is a song by the fudgepackers Bare naked ladies and Sarah Mchlachlan... they did a christmas cover of God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen... It was bloody good.
