...and before anyone asks, 1) - no, I'm not smoking again, 2) - no, 'habit' doesn't reference that ridiculous nun outfit, and 3) - it's nothing illegal. I've rekindled my love for salted, roasted sunflower seeds, and I have developed a habit of filling my cheek with them, transferring them one-at-a-time to my central incisors, splitting and devouring the seed inside, and spitting the shell into a 46oz metal can right in front of my monitor as I type. Not that this is an unhealthy endeavor, aside from the ingested salt, but I have been noticing 'spit-spots' on my monitor as of late...
It's worse than you can imagine. As of today, I cried because Hurricane Alex was behind schedule one day for watering my lawn. Oh, the humanity!
I gave up my pumpkin pie addiction. Now I have to have at least 3-4 Oreos a day. Did you know a serving of Cool Mint Oreos is two Oreos? Regular Oreos, three. I'm interested in trying the peanut butter ones. They look intriguing.
I did. Pointless. The time spent exercising your teeth and tongue to extract a single seed at a time not only exercises the muscles that make you popular with the ladies, but it also makes the same amount of seeds last quite a bit longer. If they were already shelled, it's simply "stuff, chew, swallow." Plus, I dunno - I think it's fun to teach my tongue new tricks. Have yet to hear a complaint.
The video game collection was the best habit you had. I need to develope a similiar one. Arcade games are now antiques.
Lately, I've put the video games on the back burner as I move my current hobbies to the driveway... Bought a couple 4x4's, 85 Suburban - put a 6" suspension lift on it and 38.5" Boggers, sounds like a WWI plane on the highway... Also bought an 87 Blazer w/ 14" suspension lift & 44" tires... It's for sale right now. I'd love to keep it, but can't really justify the expense right now.
How the hell is it you can afford all these toys. I'm just trying to survive here. AC went out the beginning of the month. *fixed it myself with roofing patch and ductape* Dishwasher went out had to have it replaced. 600.00 Car starter went out at work called the dealer 500.00 part 280.00 labor? WTF? Bought a new starter for 170.00 paid a guy named Juan at the tire shop down the road 80.00 to pull the car to his shop and put it in. Motor seized up on my pressure sprayer need a new one of those. Still need to finish my landscaping project which will likely cost like 500.00 plus. What else I know there is something else. What you selling the Blazer for? {Price}
No wife. No kids. No girlfriend. No debts. Plus, I've been known to squeeze a nickel so hard that the Indian is riding the buffalo. Luckily, my blower motor and fan limit control switch went out last summer while I was still working - would've cost a lot to have it fixed, but ~$150 in parts and a bit of labor on my part between work shifts in the sweltering heat let me put that cash into my 'toy fund.' I've used mine probably twice since I moved in - a few years ago, when the garbage disposal broke, the drain line from the washer clogged, and I haven't even tried to use it since. I have a new disposal, should run circles around my old one even in it's prime, just have yet to put it in. If I just train myself to wash dishes by hand as I use them, I never really have enough shit to need the washer. Again, typically there's only one person eating here, and I'm still in 'college mode' - only dirty the absolute bare minimum in dishes and utensils. When the starter went out on the Rodeo, I learned that the most common problem is the copper contacts inside the unit that create a spark - every time you turn the key, a few atoms of the copper are burned off, until the two circular parts are unable to make contact with each other. Could've bought a rebuilt unit for ~130 + core charge, but found an eBay seller that sells just the copper replacement parts for your original unit, and I think it was shipped for around $40. The absolute hardest part in doing that repair was loosening one of the nuts holding the solenoid onto the block. Got an electric one, I forget the brand, it's yellow... Would really like to have a gas version, but aside from a few random projects, I rarely use it. What do you use yours for? Anything stronger than the kind I have might be too much for painted surfaces - a buddy of mine stripped the paint off the trunk in his Civic, and mine's got such a small effective area, I'd rather just let the cemented areas around the house age gracefully than to start stripping one corner and lose interest when I realize how long the whole thing will take... Splattered grease from the outside burner (the only place I fry stuff) is easily stripped from the patio with the propane pear-burner, and it's a hell of a lot more fun than just shooting water at it. :biggrin: If I had $500 to drop on my weeds, I think I'd cement right over 'em. At least the back yard. Front one gets enough shade to stay green most of the year. Eventually, I would like to relocate the fireplace away from the patio, set it up at an angle pointing at the back door, and add a curved, tiled counter top with sealed storage underneath to partially enclose the planned patio extension and house the outdoor sink. Originally thinking 4, but w/o new carpet, 38. Check your PMs...
