There is a story in the media about a black Harvard professor who was arrested for disorderly conduct last week. If you haven't heard the story, the summary is that he broke into his own house because he couldn't find his key. A neighbor called the police and they showed up after he was inside. The police arrived and questioned him He could prove it was his house by showing ID but inside screamed at the cop for being racist. He was arrested for disorderly conduct. I don't know who is right and who is wrong. Frankly I don't care. The part that pisses me off is our President has now gotten himself involved in this matter. This is not a matter for the president, it's one for the courts. Obama needs to stay the hell outta this and focus on the economy and two wars we are fighting right now. Shape up dude!
I read about it. I havent seen the 'dash' cam. The picture I saw was two white cops leading him out and a big black cop coming off the porch. I dont know what the actual exchange was but I'm sure if he'd said 'Sorry, officer, I left my keys in the house, heres my ID' it wouldnt have been an issue. I dont know why some people have to 'show out' to the cops. How hard is it to be polite to an underpaid, putting his life on the line everyday, civil servant? These guys put up with so much crap I can only imagine the number of tickets I have gotten out of by being polite.
I've been on both sides of the law there are assholes in either direction. Until you have a real reason there is no excuse for making an ass of yourself. The guy is a historian I think he was wanting to make a little history of his own. Some people never want racism to die they simply have to much to lose Obama included.
