Shit - I don't think I've kept the forum up to date as of late...

I know there are a few gaps, but the two most recent acquisitions are as follows:

The Taurus Judge Magnum (FINALLY available in a blued finish) - yes, I already have a Judge, but this new one will let me fire 3" shotgun shells from the comfort of a well-honed revolver, as well as .45 LC. My other one will only let me fire 2.5" shells. Think: 000Buckshot = 3 pellets/2.5" & 5 pellets/3"...

Previously, that gun was only available as a special order, and in a shiny "LET 'EM KNOW YOU'RE COMING" steel finish. Now - without undertaking the process of bluing the steel itself, I have a panel of judges that will suit most any need. It was almost strange that I purchased the magnum .410 revolver on 4/10... coincidence, or divine providence?

    Nooooow...

I know there are a few I left out before my most recent Judge, but - today bears significant mention, as it 'bore' a much sought-after caliber pistol into the ranks of the Lomo arsenal.

Enter... the Glock 20SF... (new for '09)

This may not mean a great deal of shit to most people - but those whom know can reference the '86 Florida shootout that pinned two guys, heavily armed with not only pistols, but shotguns and a ranch rifle, against a few FBI agents, etc., and caused the agency to examine their standard issue handgun.

The FBI initially decided upon the 10mm - but the increasing number of women employed as agents deemed it an ineffective round, as a smaller-framed individual could not reasonably control the recoil of a round that ballistically outperforms the famed .45 auto.

So... The FBI contracted Smith and Wesson to shave down the 10mm - thus, creating the .40 S&W. (nicknamed by some the "40 Short & Wimpy")

Today, the .40 S&W is standard FBI issue.

Only because they had to lower their standards. :)

Compared to the revolver you never want to face:

15 rounds that outperform the beloved .45 auto. Bring it on. :)

That quarter is a beat! I am very glad he has that addition to his family. I'd say that quarter was designed by John Flanagan and weighs about 5.7 grams and is 24.3 millimeters in diameter with a reeded edge. Looks like Cupro-Nickel finish.

We have a family of aliens illegally squatting on our property.

They came from the sky and just hoovered down onto the front lawn now they have been here since Wednesday.

Joe... where do you live... like what state.. not your home address.

I like the tree, what is it?

My favorite thing about visiting places is seeing the different types of plants and tress. I find it amazing that 3 hours from of me in each direction , I find plants that I can find here. I even pull over off the road to look at wildflowers/weeds.

    Thanks that is Carrollton TX and a Youpon tree {not sure I spelled it right}

It is commonly confused with the imported Chinese Holly or some sort of oriental holly. The Youpon is a native American tree and was used by Indians as well as early settlers as a source of tea. Actually tea shops as recently as the 70's served youpon tea.

    Yaupon Tea:

Few people know this interesting fact about yaupon (a.k.a. Texas holly): this relative of the South American maté (Ilex paraguayensis) provides the only wild tea with caffeine in Texas and perhaps the United Sates.

Here's how to make a caffeinated hot beverage from yaupon:

    • Gather a mixture of young and older leaves in any season.
    • Roast the leaves in an oven at 200°F for 1–2 hours. At this point, the leaves are still green, but dry and brittle.
    • Pour boiling water over crushed leaves in a mug or teacup. Use about 1 tablespoon per cup of boiling water.
    • Allow the mixture to steep for a few minutes.

This beverage is delicious both hot and iced, and is surprisingly bright green in color.

Variation: Try roasting the leaves a little longer. Euell Gibbons, in his book Stalking the Blue-eyed Scallop (1964) writes that to make a good drink, the leaves must be roasted at 200°F until they turn brown.

With a #7 shot, those things that came from the sky could have been on the BBQ by Thursday.

I think a head shot from a 1200 fps pellet gun would be more appropriate in the residential area and also would keep you from having to spit bb's out while eating roast duck.

That is funny, for some reason I get calls about 1-2 times a week from Carrollton TX- they seem to google - mobile vet spay neuter carrollton... (we go to Carrollton GA once a week) and people from carrollton TX call me... I am like- did you not notice the area code- dumb ass.

anyway, thanks for the info, we dont have those here. Multi trunk trees are my fave. I had no idea tea could come from trees. Learn something everyday

I get mad and say "fuck you and this business" then the next day, I am working. I answer the phones, and update the website, and work on board every once in a while. I get pay checks from the business every week... however I did not for a like 2-3 months. The 2-3 months I did not work at all... it all went to shit, so I figured... I would come back... with a healthy pay increase. Plus If I dont work, the business goes down- AND not as many pets are getting fixed... so I work for the sake of the overpopulation... and the money.
