But.... "Fahrenheit 911" was OK and Stone's film "W" was OK.

The law is exercised to protect Democrats explicitly.

I get the point but for the sake of honesty is it not scary that big brother give the thumb up for Republican bashing while giving the bird to a movie bashes a Democrat?

That's what is frightening about liberals. They do not mind censorship so long as its censoring the opposing viewpoint.

You know murder doesn't directly affect you, but that doesn't make it right either. Sit there and play stupid while you bitch about your rights being messed with by a movie...some fucking nerve.

The Patriot Act hasn't hurt me directly at all. Or anyone I know for that matter. However, where does it end? When the government can suspend your rights because they "think" you might be up to something, whats the next step? Sure they aren't bothering me now, but what if they expand the act to include those who read books the government labels "potential threat"? Or anyone who pubically speaks out for gun rights as a means to protect themselves from the government? I don't want my privacy invaded because I read "The Turner Diaries" or "Steal This Book". And if Americans sit back and let the government take our rights away... it will only escalate. This was what "1984" cautioned us about. I think Republicans and Democrats alike can agree on that. It's up to us to fight back or remain docile.

    I'm Johnny Cheezedawg. And I'm a Libertarian.

Yes Johnny you are absolutely correct. IMHO

The irony is when liberals who traditionally advocate invasion of peoples rights sanctimoniously complained about the Patriot Act. When they really could care less.

The Patriot Act is necessary during this era of terrorism for the purpose of fighting terrorism. This is WAY far different than the wholesale use of the media as a propaganda machine for non-American interest while censuring anyone who speaks against the corrupt liberal political machine. We gave up basic rights during previous wars and reinstated them. Look at how many phone calls you make a day. Look at an average Americans daily communications. Consider how many work related communications are made. If we had 200,000 agents monitoring calls in a totally random pattern then you would have as much chance of having you conversation monitored as you would have a chance of driving into Kentucky and pulling into the fifth gas station across the state line and buying one lotto ticket from a guy named Chuck and willing 5 million.

But we do not have 200,000 agents monitoring calls and the ones that are are for people talking to known terrorists.

The Liberal mindset is absolutely insane. ;)

Of course with Obama at the helm the Patriot Act becomes a bit more ominous doesn't it?

God forbid another movie that doesn't go along with your "HO" come out again and totally violate your rights. Seriously though, you are so thoroughly entrenched in your own opinion that you can't see anything from anyones point of view other than your own (as you have proven again and again in your posts) that I wash my hands of you, I can't believe I even got worked up over anything you have said. I apologize for that and it won't happen again, ever.

Exactly, the Bush regime was slowly but surely becoming an Orwellian nightmare. I was beginning to think Bush was going to be our last president ever as well as the worst.

And give me an Orwellian example again please? ..... What am I saying? You never gave me the first example.

Schmed just forget about it I'm not worked up and your yo entrenched in what you were told to believe to see anything else. :)

The patriot act says that the U.S. Government can tap your phones, listen to your conversations and then determine, at their own discretion, right or wrong, if you're a "terrorist".

If they determine you're a "terrorist" or even a "person of interest" you can be detained, for as long as necessary (read: indefinitely), against your will and without any kind of legal recourse for fucking EVER.

Literally the rights of every single person in America were intruded upon. Directly or indirectly.

What are you saying, the Patriot Act is a good thing?

Better be careful who you cross or you'll end up in Gitmo.
