We put in Pelosi and company on account of people tired of Republican toe tappers. And crooks like Tom Delay? (by the way can anyone tell me what it was Tom Delay did to be indicted and then after all the media fan fair charges dropped?)

Democrats Allow Rangel to Keep Chairmanship

    http://www.newsmax.com/insidecover/rangel_ethics_vote/2009/02/11/180654.html

WASHINGTON — House Democrats voted down an attempt Tuesday to remove Rep. Charles Rangel as chairman of the powerful Ways and Means Committee during an ongoing ethics investigation.

The action came on the same day the House Ethics Committee voted to reauthorize a subcommittee of three Democrats and three Republicans to investigate Rangel, a New York Democrat who has served in Congress for nearly 40 years. The investigation began, at Rangel's request, last year, but the subcommittee needed reauthorization because a new Congress was sworn in last month.

The Ethics Committee is looking at Rangel's failure to pay taxes on about $75,000 in rental income from a beach house he owns in the Dominican Republic and his use of three rent-stabilized apartments in Harlem, including one for a campaign office. Also under scrutiny are letters Rangel wrote on congressional stationery looking to drum up donors for the Charles B. Rangel Center for Public Service at the City College of New York.

The resolution to remove Rangel as chairman said he "has dishonored himself and brought discredit to the House." With no public debate, the House voted to table the resolution, effectively killing it, by a vote of 242-157.

Rep. John Carter, R-Texas, introduced the resolution, saying he knew it would be defeated by majority Democrats, but he wanted to "put sunlight on the issue."

Rangel, who has said he broke no laws, requested the Ethics Committee investigation after the issues were raised in the press last year. In a recent interview, he dismissed allegations of wrongdoing, calling them "a mosquito on an elephant's back." The Ways and Means Committee has jurisdiction over tax policy.

    And then there is:

    Richardson withdrawal leaves cabinet gap
New Mexico governor insists he will be cleared in a grand jury probe

    http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/28493919/

Richardson said in his statement that he will remain as governor.

    'Pay-to-play' dealings?
The announcement came ahead of Obama's Monday meetings with congressional leaders on a massive economic recovery bill he wants passed quickly. Obama transition officials said Richardson's withdrawal would not affect the stimulus plan because the Commerce Department was not heavily involved.

A person familiar with the investigation told The Associated Press that the grand jury is looking into possible "pay-to-play" dealings between CDR Financial Products and someone in a position to push the contract through the state of New Mexico.

State documents show CDR was paid a total of $1.48 million in 2004 and 2005 for its work on a transportation program.

In a statement issued Sunday night, CDR's chief executive, David Rubin, described Richardson as "an exceptionally able and dedicated public official, who was highly deserving of the opportunity to hold a cabinet-level position in the new Obama administration." Rubin also said CDR "adamantly doesn't practice pay-for-play under any circumstance on any playing field."

CDR and Rubin have contributed at least $110,000 to three political committees formed by Richardson, according to an AP review of campaign finance records.

Richardson ran against Obama in the Democratic presidential primary, but withdrew after a poor showing in the Iowa caucuses and New Hampshire primary.

He is correct he probably will get off

Report: Daschle Received $220G From Health Care Groups With Vested Interest
Tom Daschle, President Obama's nominee to head the Department of Health and Human Services, reportedly received $220,000 in speaking fees from health care groups with a vested interest in the work he would do once confirmed as health chief.

    http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/01/30/white-house-daschle-tax-issues-shouldnt-bar-cabinet-confirmation/

The speaking fees were detailed in a financial disclosure statement released Friday after it was revealed that Daschle -- Obama's nominee to head the Department of Health and Human Services -- failed to pay $128,203 in back taxes and $11,964 in interest.

Me or you would be indicted for tax fraud but the ones who are proponents of more tax don't pay taxes themselves and are above the law apparently

Tim Geithner Confirmation Hearings: Questions Over Missed Tax Payments

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/01/21/tim-geithner-confirmation_n_159619.html

WASHINGTON — Timothy Geithner apologized to Congress Wednesday for what he called "careless mistakes" in failing to pay $34,000 in taxes and moved closer to confirmation as treasury secretary and the Obama administration's point man in reviving the economy.

While some Republican lawmakers questioned whether Geithner was being forthright in the explanation of his tax errors, he appeared to have sufficient support to win approval from the Senate Finance Committee.

CNN tried to muddy the waters and make it appear to be about his housekeeper taxes. :

As I have said many times before...

    Prepare thyself for the Obamination.

I can only hope that they fuck up even more indisputable than previous attempts (and they are WELL ON THEIR WAY even this early) - that we can have something SOLID, BOLD, AND UNDENIABLE to point to when their asinine political theories are finally put to the test, uninhibited, unadulterated, and unchallenged.

My hope resides in the fact that the Liberals will have ABSOLUTELY NO FINGERS TO POINT when their whole frame of mind is put to use (uninhibited), and we see the direct shortcoming results of their whole train of thought.

    Check this out Lomo

Obama said we would see the bill and get to debate it before it was voted on.

However even the congressman and Senators would not have been able to read the bill.

It was finally posted late at night without warning the day before it was voted all 1073 pages some of them hand written and vague so that interpretation could easially be challenged.

Basically he has a blank check of a bill to spend along with the first plan a trillion dollars.

Remember his campaign? All we hear was change, change, change, then transparency, transparency, transparency.
