Ok so me & the kid pack, get all ready for the Orlando trip...arrive 2 hours and 15 minutes early. Check in the bags...fiddle fart around the airport- eat- blabla

We got bumped. said we can catch another flight in 3 hours. While waiting for this my kid get does the puke/diarrhea combo explosion- Our bags were already on their way to Orlando... so I buy a dorky jogging out fit that is too big for him... he does it again... then I start getting that yucky feeling. Grab his hand and make him come to the ladies bathroom with me... I am not leaving him standing in an airport alone. I made it to the bathroom. had major squirts... and threw up in a plastic bag that had new magazines in it. My son thought this was the finniest thing ever. Laughed so hard he squirted in the new pants (he was not wearing underwear either) . We come home- after talking to the ghetto lady in the lost baggage department. I guess some sort of food poisoning from the shity airport food. I call Travelocity... get some indian guy that is no help. So I call my credit card company.

I am just sooo mad. now we feel fine. I guess we staying home. My kid is being great about it... he said he was excited about flying, but scared of riding any rides anyway. He happy with all his Star Wars stuff. I just feel like a huge failure

How can they bump someone that had tickets ...days in advance? I do not get it... or understand how someone else is more important. How does this shit happen? Delta said someone will deliver our bags to our house today or tomorrow.

That really sucks.Airlines and hotels overbook all the time with the hope that someone won't show up.I worked at a hotel and we would overbook by 10 rooms during the summer and if everyone showed up we would send them to other hotels.Lots of pissed tourists. We were the best hotel in town and some of the places we would send them I wouldn't stay in.Hope your holidays turn out ok anyway.

Maybe everything happens for a reason. Sorry it turned out to be such a terrible experience but maybe some good will come of it.

    Or not.

Travelocity will not do anything for you. Especially now that the flight is technically "en route". They simply booked your flight unless they were the merchant (they charged you) on the ticket (you can check your credit card to verify it. If Delta charged you, there would be a 006 at the beginning) Travelocity charging you isn't very likely unless you bought one of their special bargain fares. In that case, they would be obligated to work with you. They still should try to be a liason between you and Delta, but more than likely they will push you back on the airline. And since you bought the ticket through an agency (Travelocity) sometimes the airline will try to push you back to Travelocity. Don't let them do that. They charged you for the ticket, not Travelocity. They are the one that bumped your flight and they are the ones obligated to make it right.

If you bought non-refundable tickets, I highly doubt that they will refund you even though they messed up. They will try to hold on to their money at all costs. Delta will probably offer you another flight going to the same destinations and if you say no to that, they will probably give you a credit for 1 yr. from the date of purchase to rebook travel. They should offer a waiver code so when you go to rebook, the next person doesn't try to charge you a penalty fee for a ticket exchange. The waiver code should be noted in your flight record, but I would ask for it. It should be an alpha-numeric code.

We had fun today- so its all good. It was package deal with travelocity... flight- hotel- car. And it was non refundable.... but its all good now, after 67 minutes on the phone. My son says the worst thing was having to wear the red jogging outfit. It was real stupid... but the only thing I could find near by and fast, while he sits in a women's airport bathroom. I have 2 cell phones, (one that only works in metro atlanta - Metro PCS and one Tmoblie- that I never use anymore...but was taking it so I had a phone in FL) ... so I was on the phone with him the whole time. The only thing I could find to somewhat fit him was a flease red outfit that says ATLANTA across the front, and we had to roll the legs up about 5 times... but hey it was better then a barf shirt and shity pants. Later when I was sick... he sat outside my door and said, "are we going to have matching outfits" but luckily I did not need to.

I am just mad because at first they did not want to give me my money back.
And I used a Visa Debit card to pay for it... So I was nervous that I was going to lose 1491$ for nothing. They said it will be credited back in 48 hours... good thing I am going through the divorce , because I had a tape recorder... and I taped the convo. ...oh and our luggage was delivered today. SO I am happy- but will go ape shit if the money is not back by Tuesday.

I am also glad we did not go, The Arab was already overwhelmed with the baby. He kept yelling mama & nan nan (Evan) - so it all worked out fine- IF I get my money back.

He didn't read the Ryan's Steakhouse episode, did he?

And, why on earth would you choose a jogging outfit after that? Don't those have the elastic ankles like the sweats, or was that the idea?

I hadn't thought of a package deal. Yeah, that's all on Travelocity. Glad it worked out.
