I will have to follow up as I learn more about this game but let me start by saying, "DAMN!!" They have taken so many steps forward on this one, it is amazing. The songs (most) are great, all original. An impressive cast of rock royalty is on board making appearances in this game. The music studio is far more complex than I had imagined. You can create music here. On guitar, you can select tempo, amp type/effects (with a Line 6 POD modeler), scale (major, minor, pentatonic, blues, etc). There is a bar that you press with the side of your strum hand that mutes the "strings" as you would resting your hand on the bridge. There is a "tap" area (that doubles as a phaser on sustained notes) for added tricks. The drum kit is wireless. The frame is metal and the pads are soft rubber. There are three toms, two "cymbals" and a bass kick. More to follow. Great game so far.
I watched some guys play guitar hero the other day... I could not stop laughing. They were so into it, making faces and getting all weird. It really reminded me of the GH South Park episode.
Weird faces playing an actual instrument is bad enough. Weird faces holding a piece of plastic with colorful buttons is... priceless?

I have the utmost respect for that man... He may be fucked in the head, but he doesn't give a damn if people know it, and certainly doesn't extend any effort to hide it. Loved his spot in one of those Chris Farley movies... I think it was Black Sheep? I should get that movie. I've been wanting to grab a soundbite of David Spade saying, "You heard it here - VOTER FRAUD!" ever since the 2000 election.
