I had a dream that my house caught on fire. Which may have stemmed from reading that Nick Noltes caught on fire yesterday, but dreams like that freak me the fuck out.

Anyway, in a way, it had funny parts. Apparently the fire started because someone spilled embalming fluid on the floor beside my bed (which I think was from watching this show last night called, "The Science of Death") and me throwing my cell phone down in that spot. It somehow sparked and caused this bright blue flame to appear and everything started to burn, so I got the important stuff and got out of dodge.

The funny part was when we were calling 911, we apparently got some guy from India who didn't speak English very well... (like 911 was outsourced) and he was trying to tell me what my homeowner's policy wouldn't cover and then asked me if I was having any problems with my computer and I was like, "Actually yes. IT'S ON FUCKING FIRE! Send someone out here now!"

But somehow the fire went out and only scorched a little section beside my bed (which is where the laptop sleeps) so now I am thinking my laptop is going to cause a fire. It's been making funny sounds. Would a laptop (or any computer for that matter )cause a fire? I hope that wasn't some kind of omen.

The laptop wouldnt cause a fire. The Powersupply might cause a short, like if an animal gnawed the cable. The only time Ive seen monitors/computers 'spark' is when our server room at Monsanto's power was f'd up. We had a lot of circuits that were on a huge UPS/generator and they were fed via 408 circuit. Well some genius decided to lift the nuetral wire, which is the path the unused energy takes, well without that wire the Servers, their monitors, the wall outlets, the small surge protectors that were connected to the servers and junk started popping off, smoke and junk everywhere. Luckily we had a complete circuit disconnect, but the 8 seconds it took to have stuff pop, and realize what the hell was going on, and then to remember wtf to do, it pretty much fried about 300k worth of equipment.

    Cheers!

That is a hilarious dream. I think I have vivid dreams often actually I know I do but if I do not make a conscious effort to remember them such as tell my wife first thing in the morning. I forget them within seconds of waking up. I rarely remember the Mon-Fri ones but on weekends when I sleep late I do. Because I slowly wake up just remembering the dream but going back to sleep and starting where I left off as if I had temporarily hit a pause button.

I think it means you feel tied to /overwhelmed by technology ... cell phones, computers... etc.

When I was little my family left me at home (i was around 6 months old at the time), when they came back, a large group of bees flew into my window and started to make a nest. They came back and the room was smothered with bees, you could see the huge beehive they started to make from the outside window. My mom quietly walked into the room and picked up my sleeping body and got me out.

You'd think that shit would make me fear bees, but im pretty cool with them

I think you watched one of them afterschool 'killer bee' movies from the late 70s/early 80s and you are just remembering what you want.

A few years ago Dell recalled a shitload of laptops because of "exploding batteries".

So Nauseous, if you have a dell that's a couple of years old — yes, it could kill you. It's probably plotting your demise right now.

The batteries didnt 'explode'. They would just overheat and cause a fire, if what they were sitting on was flammable. I also think it was a bunch of other laptop batteries too, I dont think it was limited to Dell. (I'm sure sony made batteries for their own laptops too).
