Happy Belated Birthday. Had I seen that it was your birthday I would have started a thread.

I'm so sorry that nobody started a birthday thread for you, but wait 'til next year, you'll be old enough to drink and vote.

did your mom give you a party with balloons, party hats and pony rides?

I'm actually in Oklahoma, IKE gave us a shit load of rain and some wind, but thats about it..
My inlaws drove up from Houston, scared they dont have a house left.
If thats the case I need some good ideas on how to tell my mother-n-law she cant live with us.....

I'm not that cold hearted...But I will be needing a large prescription of Valium.
    Any doctors in the house?

I still miss it. Do not miss the heat though. Houston is a rich city with a happening nightlife plenty to do. I remember when we lived on base my wife used to team up with other wives all three together clean one persons house one day then all three go to the next. They would all go do laundry together also. Somehow when you pull people together mountains seem like mole hills.

In Houston I lived through Allen, Alisha, Carla I believe a few more. Alicia was the biggest. There were tornados all over the place during that one. The whole neighborhood was out helping each other move trees off of houses and such. There was no power so if you had meat in the fridge it was barbeque time. It got to where when a storm was hitting and we all knew the power was going out we would get together at someone’s house and have a storm party there at the end. I moved away at 19 in 1987.
