This was within the first couple of days in response to a Stanley Kubrick thread. Not my best work, but I was testing the waters here.

"Full Metal Jacket" was like two movies in one and would be my favorite Kubrick work. I saw Ermey overseas get up on a table in a mess hall and do his drill sergeant routine for the soldiers in house (History Channel was filming 'Mail Call'). He's a great American. "Clockwork Orange" was a bizarre flick, but I enjoyed it, too. Pretty violent by the standards of that day .
