My wife and I met with the oncologist this morning and he is going to give her no further treatments. It seems that she is of a 2% of people who have a 5 to 7 fold risk of high toxicity from the 5FU treatment that she had pre-op. We wouldn’t have elected to go this route had we known then, but she probably got all the chemo she needed up front. That is why she got so sick. Most people react differently to that particular chemo but she virtually got a larger dose based on how her body reacted to it. Hence, the cancer got a larger dose as well.

Bottom line: no more treatments, no more sick, no hair loss. She is beside herself with joy as am I.

But I want her to keep the wigs.

That's terrific news! Now she can get back to living a normal (except for having a husband who's into playing dress-up with wigs) life again! :)
