I was eating a salad at around 3:30 this afternoon, made from some organic mixed-greens salad-in-a-bag things that came from the hippie grocery delivery service. So anyway, it was all fresh and nice and clean, OR SO IT SEEMED. At one point I tasted something distinctively moldy or fungusy, but the flavor passed very quickly so I forgot about it. Then I was still hungry so I got up to go in the kitchen for something else to eat, except suddenly I felt funny, and then my neck spasmed. I also suddenly felt very, VERY tired and slightly dizzy and disoriented.

My husband tried to massage my neck, but it didn't help, and I ended up taking some Advil and going to bed for a couple of hours.. I napped fitfully for about an hour. Then we ate some tacos and watched "Happyness" (great movie, if you like Will Smith and also CRYING A LOT) and now I am wide awake and cannot sleep at all. And my neck still hurts.

Is there anything I could have eaten in my salad that would cause this?

I dunno. I am a paranoid fuck when it comes to food. If something tastes funny, I immediately spit it out. I don't care where I am. I just spit it on my plate. At first my husband thought it was funny and now I think it is annoying to him.

I don't know what kind of food poisoning would make you sick that quickly. It usually takes at least an hour... sometimes even days, depending on the toxin.

Keep the bag though. I always hold onto the container of something that I find suspicous. I've done this since I was about 8 when I licked a stamp that tasted really bad, and I put it in a drawer with a note that read, "If I die, this is what killed me." (I probably didn't use the comma though.)

    I hope you don't die.

Pesticides. Bacterial Organisms. Good ol' fashioned bug feaces, or Genetic Modifications.. take your pick.

It was organic, so it wasn't pesticides. I wonder if there was a fungus in it? I feel OK today.

I wouldn't have chanced it. Also, if it came from CA, I'd be worried. That's where most of the toxic shit comes from.
