You'll be surprised how many votes are pointless with a rigged system.

Thomas E. Dewey. He lost to Truman because he was confident that he would win california and ohio, he didn't, lost by a vote in each. If he won them, he would have gon into the house of reps to debate it, where he was vastly favored.

Thomas Dewey was also a very corrupt and lewd person, thank god we got Truman.

Here's a site that says every time a vote made a difference.

Simply because the popular vote didnt win. Its a flawed system.

Correct. If every vote counted as they say then Gore logically should have won.

Do you have to ask that question. You know good and damn well in 30 years all the dirt on Bush will be shoveled out just like Nixon.

I think the fact that the vote is actually left up to your rep, so even if a district votes 80% for W, and the Rep wants Kerry, the Rep can vote for Kerry. They dont post the actual votes, well maybe they do, of the representatives, so you dont really know if your guy actually cast the one the majority of his constituents wanted. Then if you did, by the time the 2 years or so rolled around where you can vote him out of office, most forget about it and just vote him, or her, back in again. They need term limits, on every official office. And make everyone use Social Security. Dont let them have their little golden parachute, see how fast it gets straightened out then.

I think 2 terms is enough for any political office. Ted Kennedy has been in there so long they are going to retire his jersey when he dies. 2 terms and you move up, or you move out. Get some fresh blood in there, not the same old crusty's that think it's okay to step on the little people, and some of the not so little people. Dont let the same people keep screwing things up time and time again. We have that locally, where certain districts will vote the same corrupt people back in office over and over. Charles Walker, local state Rep, found guilty of corruption, was re-elected before sentencing, luckily they put him in jail, and had another election. Just amazes me at how ignant, yea, ignant, some people can be.

i like the 2 term idea. if one person cant get done what they said they would do in 2 terms they dont deserve to be there to begin with
