Okay, so I just got approved again at the shelter for another dog. I don't know what gender to get. I have a male and a female now. The male is laid back and will probably get along with anything. The female is possessive and will probably be a bitch (no pun intended) to anything until she gets over herself.

I hate picking dogs. It's one of the hardest things I have ever had to do in life. I don't know what gender to get. I have had males and females throughout my life and my current male is the only one that had ever peed in the house. I don't want a pee of war going on so I am leaning towards a female.

    Thoughts?

I have a 3 month old Maltese bitch that is a piss machine so it's not just a male marking thing. Get the male fixed and it may stop the territorial pissing rites.

My male is fixed and has been since a week after I got him 3 years ago. He pees on the ottoman when he gets mad at me. My female has never peed in the house. And with a female, at least they pee straight down and not ON something. I am just afraid that the next dog if he is male will smell where my other dog has peed and go for it.

females usually get along with males really well and not other women. just like humans. except, of course, for our fantastic relationships on fugly.

Why not go to the pound and let the dog pick you?

Jsut sit down in the middle of the floor and choose the dog that clearly claims you. You will know by the eye contact and whining. (from the dog, not you.)

I can't really tell. They all seem to like me. I'm pretty popular at the pound.

Females are easier to train and I have read a few books on this both my dogs are bitches now and both fixed.

Male dogs like to roam more (generally) although denutting them helps.

Look I have this dove I pulled out of my swimming pool its now in my flowerbed and if something were to happen to it it would break my heart.

Come get it please and care for it. I hear you can feed them dog food.

I bet you went to school with the hot dog girl, huh?

I'm not having any luck on the search for a dog. I've been there 3 times and I want to take them all.

Are you referring to the girl that had some 'alone time' with a frank-n-stuff hot dog that broke and she had to go to the hospital to have it removed? I think we all did.........

I have a mini-pom that you are more than welcome to. I will even put it in a box of dry ice and ship it to you......*(cryogenics).

Actually I cant, but I wish I could.

Yeah, that girl. I worked with a girl a while back at an eye clinic and my boyfriend came in and saw her and whispered to me that she was the 'hotdog' girl at his school.

That's really sweet of you, but I think I'll have to pass.

No. He said that even though he knew it wasn't true, she grossed him out.

Oh, so there is Parvo going on down at the shelter. I'm not sure how to play this one out. Take it to the vet immediately and get it tested and all of its shots and bathed before taking it home?

Okay. I was down there for two hours today and I found this gal who was a rescue (left outside and had mange, but she looks good now) and she's totally sweet and shy, so I put my name on her. She had another dog with her and I hate to split them up but since it was a boxer, it can go to a rescue group from what I was told by a shelter worker today. It was a tough choice and I still feel terrible but I know that this dog is going to have a good life. Just as long as my current bitch doesn't kill her. :)
