help! it's pimp!.. i can't even remember what email address i used for this site.. and even if i could i'm browsing primarily from a cellphone ATM which makes troubleshooting kindof squinty and irritating..

can you (i.e jeffy the jew) set my password in the admin panel and PM it to nursey (i can pm you pics of my penis as proof it's really me)

PS ... the new forum is a bit shitty.. what was wrong with SMF? i thought you changed software to combat the spammers? it seems to me that in migrating to a pay-forum from a freeware forum you've taken a step backward... i know that IPB is more established and has more features out the box.. but how does that benefit this forum, really?..

way back then when you asked for suggestions of what forum software to change to, and bandied vBulletin and invision power board, dwaine suggested simple machine forum. you migrated to that and to be perfectly honest i was very impressed.. with it the spammer problem was gone. and also it was free.

what was the problem with SMF?.. why did you migrate to IPB? if you ask yourself honestly if you intend to do big things integration-wise and utilise the advanced features of this software, would you answer positively?

you've had big plans for this site many times before, but procrastinated many times instead. we had a chat a few years back about how you'd have steered the user integration on this site. and if you'd have done it back then you would probably have rode the crest of the web2.0 wave. but now there's a billion user-content generated video/blog/whaevar sites.. little fish big pond etc..

    anyway... go go SMF..

and fix my password woe please!!

Criticism is easy. Ideas to improve something take some thought. Put a little effort into it.

Send me an email with your user-name and I'll look up the email address you used, then you can go from there.

    i sorted it

effort? what like supporting this place since it began? injecting it with life when it's seemed doomed to die multiple times? helping whenever you've asked for it? sending a donation in the mail during the ill-fated fugly membership episode? nursey has done all that

so define effort.. she commented on the forums look.. probably vbulletins default theme right?.. well as with the last forum, vanilla skins are lower common denominator aesthetics.. bland.. functional

fugly has an identity, a colour scheme and look that when you see it you think 'fugly.com' and the forums used to echo that..

    brand consciousness..

nursey brought up the uninspiring theme and choice of colours.. and you say to put in effort. but that stuff is admin level.. beyond sending you screenshots of how the forum used to look, which she already did after mentioning the lack of personality in the forum, what do you expect her to do? mere users can't do what you can.

If it matters at all I also would really like to see our old colors on this, it just feels more like home to me that way is all...

you can have boards with user defined themes/ colour schemes. see if theres anything like that for this particular board. have blue and classic fugly brown for the people that want it. I personally never liked the brown/green/yellow looking one so a choice will please everyone.

The only problem that I can see with this boards 'productivity', that being spammers. You could have multiple tiered user accounts which have different options; The bottom level account, cannot post links or pictures in posts(or sigs) after 1 week, it gets automatically(i'm not sure how you would do this automatically, It might be only 'manually') upgraded.
Either that or get a filter/bot that deletes all posts with these items

You like the boot-licking? My breath smells like Kiwi polish and it gets me nowhere with my wife.

That's a good idea. You can choose your theme already in your user preferences but there is only the default theme in there. I have to make a new theme with the old colors and that might take some time, but that is a good solution.

This is a problem again, yeah. Dwain had a good idea about an addon that might help. I think that making them wait a week to post would just delay the spam for a week. I'm working on other solutions too.

Don't get your panties in a bunch, trainspotting. I just meant that it would be nice to include a suggestion or two along with your list of my shortcomings and failures.

PS, Trainspotting is one of my favorite movies and I only call you that in the most affectionate way humanly possible. Honest.

Is there anyway to get the DYK banner to kind of blend in? I know you are probably already working on it, it just hurts my eyes.

Did you know... More than ten people a year are killed by vending machines.

I was much more constructive the last time, but when nothing i say (or screenshots i take and upload and post for you) makes any difference anyway, it doesn't exactly encourage the sort of attitude you expect from me.

Ohhh... I've only been looking at it in Firefox. I didn't realize that in IE, the background is not the same color. I can fix that now. Should be done by the time you read this.
