Do any of you have a Harbor Freight store near you? We have one, and I got on their email lists, they have some of the cheapest prices on just general junk, that I have seen. I only bring this up, cause as a person who enjoys buying new equipment to help me tear up stuff, this place is great. My wife hates going in there with me. I make her, since I have to go watch her try on every freaking pair of pants in a store. I will walk down every aisle just because they dont really put stuff in to good of an order. Typical conversation between my wife and I when I pick something up,

Wife - "What do you need with 300 bungee straps"

    I - "Who cares it's only 2.99"

We have "Big Lots" stores. I think it's similar.

    Big Lots is ghetto.

Harbor Freight is for people that work for a living....

    .....but yeah same idea.

Not the highest quality of tools, but some of them are pretty tough, and ridiculously low priced.

We've got one. I would still rather go to Lowes or the Depot. Our store is so fucking cold that you wonder if they are harboring more than tools in there.

And now we wait for phatboy's "I'm harboring your tool, baby" response.

Ga 'hed, phatty. You know you want to.

I love Harbor Freight. I have bought an entire garage full of crap that I will never use. I keep their mailout in the bathroom for reading material.

I would never say anything like that. Im not dan. Geeez.

The depot and lowes are corporate 'hores' and I will not give them any o' my moneys. Unless I need something.

Harbor freight is cool my wife hates it also. Anymore though if we are out and she wants to shop for girl stuff then I make a beeline for the automotive, electric, house ware, tool section of whatever store we are in. Thanks to the cell phone she does not have to be embarrassed by my comical intercom paging techniques to track her down later.

I have lots of stuff from there also. I wonder if there is one here in Dallas its been over a year and I'm Jonesin.

Cool stuff that is hard to find anywhere else like car dollies put one under each tire and roll you car to the side and have room to work in the garage for instance. They got em and you cannot find that shit elsewhere.

Things like air grinder cut off wheels, punches, chisels. You cannot go wrong.

I think we bought some cheap plastic sawhorses at Harbor Freight.

Harbor Freight is a chain just like Lowe's and Home Depot. Difference being that at Lowe's or Home Depot, they can front you large amounts of product. It was nice to be able to buy new appliances for my house when I bought it a couple of years ago and not have to come up with the money. They run that 12 months, no interest, no payments for purchases over 299 practically all of the time. I just bought some paint, lumber and a ceiling fan for $319 the other day and I only have to pay like 26 bucks a month the next year to pay it off.

BUT you have to get it paid off! I got fucked over hard last year when I didn't get my shit paid off before interest kicked in. I thought it would only be on the 200 that I had left to pay, not the 1,000 I had originally put on. I ended up starting one month with a 200 balance and starting the next with a 400 balance! Deferred interest sucks ass!

    Ouch.

Thats why I like cash. I only use my card for online purchases. Then I dispute them and cry identity theft!!!! Cha-Ching!

I love Harbor Freight - they just opened their second store in my city, and now I don't have to drive clear across town to catch the sales. I'm on the mailing list, buy a lot of shit there, and you just can't beat the sale prices. Every time my multimeter battery dies (translated = every time I misplace one of 'em), I just buy a new one when they go on sale. Digital for 4 bucks? Come on! Why the hell not?

And... my chick loves the store even more than I do! ;)

we have two here, you just gotta be careful what you buy. I went half on a lathe we were going to double chuck and make a glass lathe out of. a glass lathe starts at $10k used. we bought the $800 hevy duty lathe. It didnt work, out of the box, we took it back, got another, and it worked for 10 minutes and the engine burned up. we drove back and they gave us anorhter, i said no and got a refund instead. On $800 they wanted to issue a check,

Yeah, I would say they don't sell top quality shit. I wasn't impressed. I like Home Depot. I know where everything is in that damn store. Lowe's is laid out weird. We have 3 of them (lowes) around here and they are all laid out differently.

We have 4 Lowes, and 2 Home Depots(the third is being built) I like the way they build them across the street from each other...

Damn... That makes more sense now. :)

I'll be honest with you, though - I thought that was the chick's real voice for the first half of the commercial...

It's okay. I watch too much TV at times. Of course they show those commercials consistently throughout sporting events, like Georgia's thumping of Auburn last year.
