I had a fever, nausea, severe stomach pain. after tons of tests, I have a stricture, fatty liver, and possibly Hep b. I am waiting for my Hepatitis panels to come back. i called for my results, I was sent to three different departments. I got the nurses station by the room i stayed in, she said call my doctor. I told her I lived two hours away and was sent there, I saw my regular doctor today, he didn't have the results. She then asked who my doctor was there, i said "Dr. Patel". which Patel, I answered "the doctor one". She said "we got tons of them Arab doctors called patel, which one? (BTW Patel is a Hindu name, he's an Indian, not a Arab, not that this Ghetto Hoochie Mama would know the difference) She then told me i had to drive there and sign for them, but records was closed, it would be Monday. Or I could call records Monday, and they would mail me a release, i mail it back, then they will mail me my results, two weeks later. I asked her how would they know it's me? couldn't I get any ones info that way? She muttered something, then I got a case of the tourettes, and Called her a retarded cunt and wished she got ass-raped, followed by a "go fuck yourself cunt" and hung up.

The records from your hospital stay should be sent to your regular doctor. If he doesn't have them he should be able to get someone in his office to get them faxed there by simply calling medical records. If it is a doctor or his secretary/office manger that is asking for them right away if they say they want them now. As far as the stricture how did that resolve? Did you have a total bowel obstruction? I am guessing not or they would have had to open you up and lyse the adhesion or whatever was causing the stricture. The three most common causes of bowel obstruction are hernias, Adhesions from prior surgeries and malignancy. Whenever you have abdominal surgery if can cause adhesions to form that can entrap the bowel. Kind of like fibrous rings of connective tissue that form.
You should call the hospital and ask for medical records. As far as the Hep B there are differnet things they look at to see if you have it. If you have hepatitis b surface antigen in your blood then you have an acute or chronic infection. It persists in chronic hapatitis regardless of whether symptoms are present. If the virus is cleard then hepatitis b surface antigen is undetectable in your blood. If you have hepatits B e antigen that implies active viral replication and indicates you can infect other people. If you have anitbody from your immune system it means you are immune to hepatitis B either by your body defeating the virus or getting immunized with a vaccine. As a tatoo artist with the needles and everything you probably should have been vaccinated against Heptatis B. If you are infected they can do an HBV viral load by something called polymerase chain reaction and if the HBV DNA persists for more than 6 weeks then you would be likely to develop chronic disease. If you have active Hepatitis B then you should recieve the vaccine and passive immunoglobulin. If you have chronic HBV then it is yousually treated with interfeeron alpha or a drug that is what they call a nucleoside analog. It's better to try to get along real well with all the nurses and people because they talk about you and somtimes the docs are less likely to work hard on your case if they get the impression you are hard to deal with.

One of the things that can cause a fatty liver is NASH or nonalcoholic Steatohepatitis. In this dz the iliver is identical to that in patients with alcholic liver disesase but they don't have a history of alcohol use. It is associated with being fat, having high lipids, and diabetes mellitus. It usually has a benign course and is asymptomatic but cirrhosis can develop in 10-15%. It can cause a mile elevation in liver function tests ALT and AST.

Percocets contain oxycodone and tyelenol (acetominophen). Taking over 4 grams of aceominophen per day can be toxic to the liver. I am not sure how much tyelonol you are subjeceting yourself to or if the drug is a bad choice given your possible liver disease. As far as the opiod hydrocodone it can cause constipation and I am not sure how that might interact with the bowel stricture or your current bowel condition. In any case even people without intestinal problems taking opiods need to drink alot of water to prevent constipation and decreased bowel motility.

Ciprofloxacin is an antibiotic used on anerobic bacteria in the intestine and metronidazole is used to prevent something called psedomembrane colitis causing crampy abdominal pain and diarrhea that can be caused by the overgroth of clostridium difficile a bacteria that doestn't get killed off by the other antibiotic and is free to overgrow because the other antibiotic killed off all the normal bacteria in your intestinge that prevent overgrowth.

I quit drinking ya know, I lost a ton of weight, and I'm eating healthy, and all that shit, then I get slapped in the face with the liver shit. It's like, why even bother? I'm going to die, why the fuck should I die healthy? I know thats a cop out, but I gave up a lot of shit I enjoyed, eating crap, drinking heavy, being lazy, and for what? a fucked up liver , and death. oh joy. Well i know it's a cop out, but I don't know. If I do have Hepatitis, I am quiting school, and just traveling as far as I can until i die.

the stricture is from a deconstruction reconstruction (sigmoid colostomy? ) in 2000. I had diverticulitis, and the diverticulum got infected. the infection got impacted and my colon ruptured. they thought it was apendicitis, but when they got in they found the rupture and pulled a colostomy. the colostomy died 5 hours later. i was stabilized, and 12 hours later I was rushed into surgery, 14 inches of my colon was removed, and reassembled. I was the first case they knew of they did this with, I have heard that it is now a common procedure. Now the Hep b, i ran a top notch clean shop, with state of the art sterilization tools, I had a M3 wet pressure autoclave. never, EVER used the same needles, needle bars. I used matacide, sterile nitrite gloves, cord wraps green soap, the whole 10 yards. My personal doctor is great, so are his nurses, just at Pitt county, they were fucking douchebags, well the doctor(s) were nice, but I had like 12 of them, and each one had a different diagnosis, and a different plan of treatment.

Well one of the thing you need to know is that when you lose all that weight you are mobilizing alot of fats that get taken up by the liver. The bad thing is it can cause the fatty liver but the good thing is that the liver gets better after it gets worse. I am still just a student even though I am about to graduate but you should talk about it to your doctor. I suspect if you keep making all the right choices that things are going to improve drastically so I wouldn't get to down about it and just push through it. As far as hepatitis B if you have an acute infection 90% of the time it will resolve. 5-10% with a chronic infection and then of those with a chronic infection only 25% get cirrhosis and it takes over 10-30 yrs. Now I am not sure how many of those are following the right drug regimen. If you lost a bunch of weight it sounds to me kind of like NASH but in the long run you are probably better off losing weight even if you have a temporary set back. If it is determined to be NASH then your doctor may counsel you as to how best to proceed in terms of your weight loss. Here is a little info on NASH and how to best lose weight I found on the internet. I'n not saying you have nash as i haven't seen any of your labs or your hospital records but it does sound like it could be.

I'm taking off for out of town til monday. You should try to verify everything I said with your doctor even though I took most of it from some of my text books because I'm a student with just a few yrs studying medicine. I think you'll be alright as long as you keep making the right choices.
