Isn't it a pain in the ass to have to scroll all the way to the very end of a thread each time to see the latest posts. Wouldn't it be better to reverse them so that the latest ones are on the first page, at the top? What do you all think about that?

That is perfectly logical, would be better and esaier to read, and is without question the right thing to do.

Therefore, in the Spirit that is Fugly, DON'T DO IT.

I vote against it. It's like getting the punchline first in a joke especially if you are trying to fuck with somebody. Take I AM HATED for example he wasn't making any sense in the first place and much less trying to read his shit backwards.

    Can you do thread nesting?

i.e. have the thread, then the replies in a sub tree, with most recent at the top.. thus:

    + Thread about stupid pics
    - Recent reply
    - Second recent
+ Thread about politics n junk
    - etc

Otherwise, I would feel that changing the order would make little difference, as in its just as easy to click on the last page to see the recent post, as it is to click on the last thread to see what they were gibbering about in the first place.

don't you have an 'end' button on your keyboard?.. they're very useful

    and i think it's a silly idea

I think it's a bad idea. And also, the appearance of this board is very smart and officey...not very conducive to the ~font of creashitivity~.

I agree with Pimp et al. The "end" key can zoom you to the "end" (wow, how logical). Also agree with the "punchline up front" arguement. I'd say leave it alone. And quit scratching it or it'll never heal.

It looks like the aye's have it. Does anyone else want to chime in before we put this issue to rest?

Nursey, what do you mean in your last post? Are you unhappy with the baby blue color scheme? If you take a look at http://www.fugly.com you'll see things slowly returning to "normal".

    Vote NO on Proposition 246!

Personally, I use the end key. Also, sometimes I read a post for the first time after there have been several replies - seems like it would be a pain in the ass to read a post, get to the end of it, then scroll up to read the next reply. It just seems to flow better when you're reading top to bottom.

Is there an option you could enable to let individual users select the default format in their preferences? That way, if they want them in reverse order, they can set it themselves? -- I just checked, there is.

"Look and layout preferences" under the "modify profile" tab of the profile screen.
