have you heard of, you wear a belt, and swallow a micro pill sized camera, and it takes pictures internally, like a colonoscopy from the top? I like the idea of not having to have 300 meters of tubeing in my butt, but are these tests safe, and accurate?
According to the surgeons it is safe and effective. It's just a little pill so there is really nothing that can go wrong and cause any GI trouble. It's suppesed to work real well in the small intestine being better than rigid endoscopy in being able to reach places the other scope can't in the small intestine. It is not as good for the colon. If your insurance is going to pay for it you probably have nothing to lose.
I read about the pill as well because I was supposed to have an endoscopy a year ago and chickened out. I can't be swallowing some fucking wire. I had a tracheostomy tube once, but I was asleep when they put it in. I would rather have a colonoscopy. From what I have heard, they are no big deal. They'll fuck you up and you won't realize what is going on.
