I said it would happen and it did. It is a strategic move also. You hear people yelling all the time about stolen elections and this is one of the most obvious ones. I can post the pictures of his opposition rallies again if you like. And remember that Democratic quack ex president Carter gave his validation that the elections there were on the up n up. Just goes to prove my point. Now Hugo is making new rules like that Presidential terms are unlimited. And simply using the Army to go in and force private business firms out and replace them under government control. How was this strategic? This is how quite simply there were other outside political forces at large socialist who still want to see the experiment work if only just once. Venezuela has a huge natural wealth and the hope is that it can be used to artificially prop up their economy. Here is the article: http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20070110/ts_nm/venezuela_dc_8
I'm all for assassination. Hell they would do it to us given half the chance. And there are plenty of Venezuelans who would gladly help after having their assets confiscated and taken over by the government. And we could keep cost as well as risk way down.
My Step father works for the same company I do and he and my Mother and 2 sisters are in Maricabo, Venezula. They come back in June after 2 years there. The gap between the Rich and the poor is insane down there. You can go one block down the road and go from million dollar houses to shacks made of cardboard and pallets. My sister is coincedintaly dating a Venezulain boy who is part of a rich and influential family. I believe his Mother's family owns the newspaper and his Father owns some coporation. The whole family is American educated and the son plans on attending school here as well. To hear my parents talk about the country, it is ashame Chavez runs it. They have been to the Andes on several occasions and say it is one of the most beautiful places on earth. They hate to leave such a beautiful country, but it is increasingly unsafe for Americans.
The Democratically inclined Nancy just elected a real friendly friend of her as the int com main. Not yet knowing if al quaeda were sunni or shia, he will probably be a real asset. He will have to leave his job to the professionals. The other option would be TO GET INVOLVED.
Yeah that is what drives it I'm sure but I still think the elections were likely rigged. It is a shame about the huge discrepancy between social classes. There has to be a correction for sure. But Chaves is not the answer. He is a dictator. I bet your friends south of the boarder are worried I feel for them. Obviously with the government take over any business who’s capital is based on share holders I would guess is hurting as investors bailout. What do you know about it?
It is so nice, reading how you care about the state of democracy Joe. The class differences between those that got money for thevenezuelan oil, and those not so privileged allso getsd your attention. Assasinations are dangerous tools. They might backfire. Killing Hugo Chavez would ellicit a response. "They would do it to us given half a chance". Hm! That would allso ellicit a response. Carter is an internationally respected expert who has dedicated his free time, working for democracy. Bush Sr s first act after his presidency was to get on a plane to Saudi and get rich while muckin about with the difference between public and private. The idea that Carters aproval shows the venezuelan election to be a sham goes well with the idea that communists run the US media. Chaves himself might hold the strings to editors and fluffers. The rest of US media is probably in the hands of Castro and Lula and Ortega. Luckily the U.S democracy is protected by good guntootin biblethumpin jacks like joe. I am sure yours and Bill O`Reilleys understanding of foreign relations and international affairs would be a welcome addition to the magnificent savantry of the ruling elite. Luckily, the U.S regime sees the need for proper procedures during times of crisis. The judicial process is followed and the populace is dilligently informed, and thanks to the critical and inquisitive nature of U.S students and workers, the democratic process stays safe. Nancy Pelosi and her IntComChair has surely set the record straight. Her boy might not know anything about anybody fighting anyone in Iraq, but I am sure he comes in handy somewhere. Do you fluff, mr chairman me lad ?
I have no idea what that mans name is. A gunsmith should know something about alloys and chemistry and all. Maybe an intcomchief should have certain basic facts down as well. Anyway. Its to late to teach him now. How many inches deep would anything sink ? Havewaged war in Iraq some time now, and this "politician" sure aint interested in politics.

Yeah right ok I do vaguely remember that and it is an interesting point all things considered because its how you need to look at a few dynamics amongst Arab's and Persian Axis and Allies. The Sunni people enjoyed the largest benefit of the Saddam regime. While the Shiites got for the most part screwed. You still need to remember Saddam was with the Bath party which strove for secular rule and also that there were a lot of Sunni people that were also tortured and killed. This would be a consideration in drawing the Al-Quada Saddam connection. Which by the way has been proven to have existed through the capturing of intelligence documentation. More importantly however it backs up my point regarding The Iranians being both Persian and Shiites propping up the violence in Iraq in the idea of a theocratic takeover (to coin a term). By simply propping up Sadur eventually his rule would be a Shiites rule and then go from there. Mean while Saudi Arabia is like "Oh Shit! Shiites at out doorstep and filthy Persians at that!" Just to bring up something else since we are way off topic has anyone made the gog magog biblical "The End Days" connection Not even sure I spelled them right but was not one supposed to be the Persians while the other was the Arabs? And then there are the references to the east and the west. Like Russia supporting Iranian Nuclear ambitions. Does anyone know that it is no real secret about Russians recent escalation in fortifying its underground nuclear fortress? And that they have helped Iran with this also?
