Place your bets, people. You've known me for far longer than this shrink will have... What do you think I'll be diagnosed with? What do you think I'll try to be diagnosed with? What do you think I'll be accused of trying to be diagnosed with? What pills will they give me? What institution will I be assigned to? What bills will my newfound insurance be charged for? Post your predictions, and I'll see how many of y'all are right...
You will learn that you have an addictive personality disorder and that you will have to sell all of your gaming equipment or eventually you will die when ROB turns on you with a machete. Or that you are pretty normal except for being fascinated by a big turd your fish cut.
Not true, although the non-insured are given a number two pencil, and a scan-tron test, and if you don't speak English, an interpreter to fill out said form.
You are clearly depressed and need the latest pill they're pushing. Last I heard that's cimbalta (sp).
Cymbalta works pretty good, if you cn get past the two weeks of walking around, feeling like you were punched in the stomach by Chuck Liddel a few dozen times
Easy - Diagnosis - 296.21 Depression/Anxiety Meds - Escitalopram Oxalate (Lexapro) (old school Doctor will prescribe Effexor or Zoloft.) Enjoy.
So how was the exam Lomo? He didn't pull that old "lay on the couch and tell me your problems" trick did he?
Second session this morning... So far, we've come up with the obvious OCD, and the "Inattentive type" of ADD. No institutionalization as of yet, and so far no meds. Sounds like I might be up for some Ritalin in the near future, though, and possibly Paxil for the SSRI to treat the OCD. More info to follow - this guy's taking his time and milking my insurance for as much as he can before starting 'treatment.'
Soooo very true! It’s basically why I tend to opt out. I have insurance in case I need it. But cannot remember the.... yes I can I went about 6 months ago to one of these convenient local clinics. Other than that I would not be surprised if it’s been three or so years since the last time I went to a doctor. It is an insult to my intelligence that they make you repeat visits and sit in their waiting rooms so that they can milk the insurance. Then there are the labs that the doctor’s them selves own. What a racket!
Hope you don't like to fuck. Paxil will ruin your libido. Luvox might be better, but in my opinion, all SSRIs are a crock of shit. I have developed some sort of somatoform disorder... with panic disorder. And an honest addiction to Xanax. Never thought that shit would be addictive, but it is and it sucks. I am replacing one dose with Klonopin and it seems to work pretty well. Before too long, I'll be full blown agoraphobic instead of 80%. But I am not depressed! Just panicky most of the time. My thyroid is normal, but I need to rule out other causes.
OCD tendencies can be part of AD/HD. I would try the Ritalin first, then add the Paxil later if you need it. I think it is bad medicine to start two new meds at once. As a matter of fact, I think it is bad medicine to take two meds period. They are NO studies to evaluate the combination of medicines.
And if you have seen the doctor twice and he has mentioned a diagnosis but has not prescribed the meds for it, he is probably a quack. Either that, or you have really good insurnace that needs milking.
That must explain why he asked for the copay up front this time (citing the ol' "in case I forget it after the session" bit) My plan includes 1 visit, plus 2 follow-ups, which I had to lay out before my 'treatment' even began, and I'm approved for 30 sessions/yr, and 60/yr if I'm diagnosed with a serious mental condition. (Humana / Choicecare) Basically, if I don't get some prescriptions in the next visit, there will be hell to pay.
