    I'd have posted this in 'Cold Sober', but I find it hard to treat the news that seriously.

    Interestingly, he's more famous in the USA than he is here in Australia.

    Here's an article confirming he's popped his clogs.

    I'm surprised that he lived this long.

    Bummer. Untreated AD/HD claims another free spirit.

    Yeah I just picked that up o the Drudge Report. Pretty much a freak thing I guess what are the odds of getting stuck in the heart from a Stingray Barb? That was what happened right?

    Of course being who he is the odds were a bit greater I guess than your average .. ah ..bloke.

    The world is definatley a sadder place without him in it, he brought me hours of entertainment and knowledge, At least he went out what he loved doing, being with and filming nature.

    I for one Salute you Steve, "CRIKEY"

    Maybe Michael Jackson can come down and dangle his children over a rail since Steve isn't around to drag them in front of a croc anymore.

    Where do you get the basis for your diagnosis? What backing do you have for these claims?

    I think Barry likes to believe that everyone can be diagnosed with some type of mental condition.

    Just by watching him on the tube, he had a lot of the symptoms.

    I enjoyed watching him to. It was a total random thing he wasn't doing anything. He was going to get some footage for his daughters show. He swam over a Stingray that was under the sand and it just swiped up with it's barb. Totally random and no ones fault.

    Poor guy he was one of the few good people left on TV. You could look at him and know he cared about Animals and for that I can't fault or say anything bad about the man.

    You know more about me than you do Steve Irwin. Where am I in the book? I'm not trying to be a smartass, I really want to know.

    First, I am talking symptoms, not an actual diagnosis. Everyone has some symptoms of some disorders. A true disorder is diagnosed when those symptoms reach a certain level of intensity.

    That is why I say that "everyone is in the book", because everyone has some type of symptoms at some time.

    As far as you Jefe? Let's see - you are really bright, probably at a "gifted" level, but you have never quite been able to make it pay off for you. Social situations create anxiety, as do interpersonal conflicts. You drink to much, probably because it calms you down. A little paranoia creeps in occasionally, and you can get bogged down with petty details. You get occasional urges to hang yourself, but these don't last long.

    Diagnosis? I would guess Unipolar Depression w/Anxiety features.

    Unipolar depression comes and goes, and does not have the highs of Bipolar disorder. It also is not as often responsive to medicine, since the patterns are fairly short in cycle.

    It is also possible that you are a Schizotypal personality. or ME PECULIAR.

    * M - magical thinking that influences behavior, superstitiousness.
    * E - eccentric behavior or appearance.

    * P - paranoid ideation.
    * E - experiences unusual perceptions.
    * C - constricted affect.
    * U - unusual thinking & speech.
    * L - lacks friends.
    * I - ideas of reference.
    * A - anxiety (socially).
    * R - rule out psychotic disorders & pervasive developmental disorder.

    Relax though. The fact that you have kept Fugly up and running all these years, and have managed to make even a paltry sum of money from it means that you are not crazy (yet).

    I think you suffer from BS disorder.

    *B - Barry/Bull
    *S - Swope/Shit

    You should write horoscopes for a living. They're equally vague, meaningless and can be applicable to almost anyone.

    They're interesting though. Do Ferine next.

    They're vague because this is the internet and I figured you didn't REALLY want me to do a detailed analysis for the whole world to read.

    The truth is, the very fact that people post here and find this crap entertaining (including myself) is atypical behavior. All the regulars here could probably find their pictures in a casebook of Axis II personality disorders.

    That's why we all get along so well. :roll:

    I don't mind. I know I have a whole laundry list of problems but who doesn't?

    I would love to hear your detailed analysis. You can always tell me privately if you think it will get me locked up in some funnyfarm.

    This thread has gone way off topic. Maybe a good way to get it back on track is for you to give your analysis of Steve Irwin?

    I think it would also be helpful for Ferine to show a little leg. And also for someone to explain how the hell these stingrays actually "sting" people? I don't even understand where the stinger is.

    I'll do the details when my stomach stops hurting. I have eaten myself sick.

    As far as Ferine is concerned - I'll pass on doing a public analysis. I think Ferine is really nice, and I have no intention of publically 'dissing her.

    As far as all the females on this forum - including Nursey, who I think might be a female, you can probably find some abuse in their past. Heck, the same is probably true for the guys as well. Abuse tends to make people find safe ways to connect with other people to have the basic needs of social interaction met. Thus, they come here for mock abuse, which is really a twisted form of peer acceptance.

    If everyone here was really honest, you would hear some sad stories about parental rejection, alienation, school teasing, sexual and physical abuse, workplace abuse, etc.

    I don't think this is the place to air out such stories. I also think the dynamics of the forum are not all that unhealthy. Maybe not the best way to get needs met, but certainly better and safer than some other means available.

    Give me a little time and I'll explain why I thought Steve had AD/HD.
