I really like Tequila makes her clothes fall off by Joe Nichols. Just downloaded from Itunes for 99 cents.

New Pearl Jam stuff is pretty good.

I know it's not very new, but I've been listening to All That Remains "This Darkened Heart". Good thrash metal.

Trace Adkins CD is pretty good, but like most country CDs it has a couple of 'filler' songs, of course for what I paid for it I cant complain.

I don't know what new music is anymore. I just like to discover older bands that I haven't heard before. I got into Grant Lee Buffalo a while back. Pretty good folky rock.

So you might like Gordon Lightfoot too then.

All I get at work is Pop or Oldies, so I listen to the oldies.

I like the old Maverick country also a big fan of Dwight he is in his own class of music. All those I got except redneck yacht club that’s the new "I'm so proud of being a redneck" class of music it would not bee so bad if it wasn’t like listening to the same joke told a different way the 50 millionth time. Oh except for the Toby Keith Bar song I got to get that the video is great. (that is the one where his buddy is getting beat up and his beer gets spilled isn't it?)

Dwight definitely is in his own class.

Johnny Cash and Hank Sr. those are good to drink to.

Hank Jr. well thats good to drink to also.

    Kenny Chesney is poppy country....

Toby Keith is pretty good too,

You know I lived in Nashville for 14 years the only relevance to that being that I talked to a lot of country fans and the sentiment was the same basically most people are tired of pop country its a manufactured music media thing. Like synchronized dancing boy bands. Same holds true for all the "way over the top" overly mushy love song stuff. I'm glad Vince Gill is no longer on the circuit except as a show host to half the country awards and such. He always sounded to me like he was whining while he was singing. Like Dan Whiner of the SnL Dan and Jan fame. I have found outside of Nashville though like here in Dallas there actually are stations that play something other than the cram down your throat mainstream top 40 shit.

Checking them out I got to tell you one thing about Nashville and all the Music studios there. This attracts a lot of bands and some of this high a caliber. It’s worth wile to stay a weekend and spend a Friday or Saturday bar hopping down 2nd Ave, Broadway, and Printers Alley. This sounds like one of those bands that you become a big fan of if your ever lucky enough to catch playing live in a bar setting.

Ordinarily, I wouldn't have liked that song but having spent some time in a place with a large screened in porch overhaning the river observing all the rednecks in their boats. I have to say the song is pretty much dead on in characterizing what goes on. So joke or not the song is pretty accurate and reminds me of my vacations.
