I don't see anything wrong with expecting your wife/girlfriend to take somewhat good care of themselves. If your alright with it your alright with it but, it has alot of implications. Chronic health problems, looking like shit, feeling like shit, no energy and so on.

For the second time I'm going to agree with Dan. If your spouse thinks it's unreasonable for you to ask them to maintain decent physical condition then they shouldn't be your spouse.
