the guy in this video, antonio, aka tony, is a friend of mine--somebody broke into his house yesterday and killed his mother. fortunately he shot the guy three times and killed him.

this video is heartbreaking... i couldn't get the video to work, but you can hear the audio:

he tried to give his mom CPR and everything...

Damn that's some crazy shit. I can't say that's ever happened to me. The only break-ins I ever have are controlled. I leave the front door wide open and I wait behind a couch with my gun. When the "thief" comes walking in I blow the fucker away and sprinkle crack on him.

Heh Smurf what you need is one of those wallet guns. It’s a small one shot derringer that fits in a special wallet and shoots a 22 long. I saw one in a gun shop and regretted not buying it. I have not seen once since. I'm pretty sure it was made by Rebel Arms.

Whatever dudes, unless the cashier is a small squirrel I don't think that .22 long would do too much damage. It'd be neat if they had a higher caliber wallet.

.22 long blew JFK's head off.

I got a six shooter up in my drawer that shoots 22 longs. Believe it or not my father made me take that after I lost his Smith and Wesson 38. You telling me I can do some damage with that thing or do I need to go to the gun store. I can't see having to put more than 1 bullet in somebody if it came down to a gun fight.

.22 longs are the tiniest things I've ever seen. No Dan, you'd definitely have to put more than 1 bullet into somebody with that gun. You'd better hit the gun store if you want some stopping power. At least get a 9mm.

    From Wikipedia:
I don't think it was a .22 long that took out JFK's head. Is that really the official explanation?

That's a .22 long fired from a pistol. A .22 long fired from a bolt action single shot would have much higher muzzle velocity. And since when do you care what the "official" explanation is for anything.

The pistol I have has a really long barrel. I don't know if it is long enough to make that much difference though when it comes down to the physics of the impact of the bullet.

Depends on the amount of charge behind the bullet as well. A rifle bullet usually has much higher muzzle velocity. More powder = bigger explosion = faster bullet.

I know this post is a little old....

.... but .22 is simply a diameter or caliber. A .223 swift is the baddest bullet you can imagine. It is travels at 4000 feet per second, and shoots as flat as a 9 year old virgins chest.

It will make an exit hole the size of a tennis ball.....like this .223 hitting an orange.

.223 is a rifle bullet though. How many pistols do you know of that fire a .223?
