Will you guys please help me with something? I've been monitoring my Alexa rank like some kind of a mental patient and I'm convinced that they are deliberately trying to keep my rank low. Traffic to Fugly.com is more than double what it was just a month ago, yet Alexa keeps knocking my rank down to 20,000 and it just won't go up. Will some or all of you that use IE, and who also regularly visit the main site, www.fugly.com install this thing and tell me if you have any problems with it? http://download.alexa.com/?amzn_id=fugly01-20 I'm not trying to scam you and I don't make anything from you doing it. It's just that Alexa bases this 'rank' on the data that they get from this toolbar. I'm paranoid for sure but I have this hunch that this toolbar of theirs is screwing me.
How do you count your traffic? Did the Alexa rating start falling after you separated out the forums and the main site? Doesn't seem like it would unless their are 10,000 people reading these forums for everyone who posts here. Not meant as an insult but merely a statement of reality.
No, that wasn't it. At most, 300 visitors come to these forums. Fugly.com gets anwhere between 40,000 and 60,000.
i will do this just for you, since you posted the bad_joe.jpg pic on fugly images i sent to you last week.
Unfortunately no, that's the other thing that makes Alexa such a poor indicator of actual traffic. It only works with IE.
If I remeber right I did this a month or so ago while we were talking on IM. So if I can do it, the rest of you lazy bastards can do it too.
