can I see if the doc is in too?

I have high blood pressure, and asthma. I have escalated to five or six panic attacks a week..some more than once a day..I have already written out a letter blaming the VA for my death, because I will not go to my small town hospital when I have symptoms that could be either a panic attack..or a heart attack..or an asthma attack. I think when I die it will be their fucking fault because they won't give me some fucking ativan or xanax or valium, but just shitty clonopin, and I have a fucking asshole of a new shrink that I saw the other day who tried to tell me that there is no difference at all between clonapin and ativan, because they are the same thing. uh huh. If I die of a heart attack or asthma attack I want it to be known that it is because of the VA...I want it so bad that I already wrote out the letter blaming my death of physical causes on the VA refusing to give me good benzodiazepenes, instead of the cheap ass noneffective fucked up ones.

The difference is that Clonazepam (Klonopin) is a short acting benzodiazepine 2-8 hours. Lorazepam (Ativan) and Alaprazolam (Xanax) are imtermediate acting benzodiazepines (10-20 hours). Diazepam (valium) is a long acting benzodiazepine (1-3 days). All benzodiapepines bind adjacent to the GABA receptor and "potentiate" its binding. Gaba is the major inhibitory neurtransmitter in the central nervous system. It increases Chloride flow across the cell membrane making it less likely to depolarize. Alaprolazam is the drug of choice for panic disorders. Diazepman is the drug of choice for status epilectucus and alchohol withdrawal. Lorazepam and temazepam are most commonly used for insomnia. - according to my pocket drug book The doctor is probably reluctant to prescribe these medications because they are addictive and you will get to where you will need them just to feel like you normally did before you started taking them.

It is genetically based. My dad had it real bad. I have had problems with it since I was very young. First surgery at age 13 months, two nasal bed reconstructions as an adult. I am really doing pretty good with everything now, except the occasional rash.

Thanks for point out the facts to Smurf. I don't pay much attention to him, because he really can't help it. He is in the process of self destructing and he won't do anything to stop it.

Probably but then I wouldn't make much of a doctor if I made snap judgements on patient motives like the nurses do. Nurse Swopes.

Maybe try some Aquaphor around the area when you have to wear it? It's what they use in the neonatal unit for irritation...
    Sure you do...Go 'skins.

So even you h ave to admit that there are differences in the actions and responses to the different kinds of benzodiazepenes?

By the way, maybe I'm so pissed off because I know of others that get appropriate meds from the VA, but I don't. Others that have the exact same symptoms and similiar histories as me.

But that's okay, I have officially given up on the va, and other than getting my heart meds from them on a regular basis, have no further plans to ever go there again to see another shrink who is more fucked up than I will ever be.

FUCK THE GUBMIN, FUCK THE VA, AND FUCK THEM ALL.!

    Dear Dr Dan Web MD,

At the advice of my dear friend Dwaine Scum I ate an entire Homewrecker, complete with chips and Salsa, at the new Moes Southwestern Grill.

Everything was fine until yesterday. I felt the urge of nature and responded in the usual way. Much to my surprise, in the middle of a routine bowel movement, my hind area exploded into flames.

The pain was unbearable, but it did not compare to the embarrassment of having the fire department extinguish my anus.

From a medical standpoint I have just one question about this incident -
