Bored at work so I thought I'd start a poll. Anyone have shows they're looking forward to this season? There's one called "Weeds" coming out on showtime, has anyone heard of it yet? I work with them and just watched the pilot last week. If you haven't found out about it, it's got the drama of Desperate Housewives just edgier like the Sopranos and way funnier. Basically, Mary Louise Parker is on the PTA of her sons' school and deals pot in the neighborhood since her husband died. The rest of the cast is pretty solid including Kevin Nealon from SNL who's awesome on the show. He's clueless city councilmember who happens to be one of MLP's clients. I guess the description doesn't really show how all that can be funny but there's a trailer on the show's site (http://www.sho.com/site/weeds/home.do).
Showtime isn't that bad. They had, "Huff" which is a cool show. I'll have to wait until next year to see season two. I'm cancelling HBO as soon as the last episode of "Six Feet Under" airs. That was the only reason to get it.
HBO is the shit.. new movies, movies on deman... Oh I forgot, you like OLD movies... then enjoy fagtime
All the major movie channels have movies on demand. Six Feet Under is the best thing that HBO has got. Occasionally, they have a good documentary, but they pissed me off by cancelling Six Feet Under. Showtime has a good show. I couldn't care less about the movies. HUFF, Showtime's newest 13-episode dramatic series, is the story of Dr. Craig "Huff" Huffstodt, portrayed by multiple Emmy® Award-winner Hank Azaria, a family man and a successful psychiatrist who gets a wake-up call after a tragedy occurs with one of his patients. His whole existence – as a doctor, husband, father, son and brother – will go through a reawakening, and life will never be quite the same again for anyone. The series co-stars Paget Brewster, Anton Yelchin, with Blythe Danner and Oliver Platt. Azaria is "Huff," a psychiatrist, whose life and career conspire to blur the lines of reality, often causing his so-called normal world and family life to be as surreal as that of his patients. He deals with the functionally insane all day, and when he comes home, he's faced with the daily insanities of family life. When one of Huff's patients, a 15-year-old boy, commits suicide in his office, Huff's life is sent reeling. He struggles with having to face legal liability in connection with the boy's death and is tortured by feelings of guilt and inadequacy. Even at home, Huff's nurturing nature is tested at nearly every turn as he endures and deals with the conflicting personalities within his own family, the most severe of which is his brother Teddy (ANDY COMEAU), a diagnosed schizophrenic living in a locked facility. At mid-life, Huff now begins to question who he is, what he's made of and how he fits in – anywhere. "HUFF came to life from wanting to write a script about waking up," says series creator and executive producer Bob Lowry. "Most people don't wake up until they learn they're going to die. The suicide is Huff's wake up call. But like all the rest of us, he falls back asleep a hundred or a thousand times a day."
I don't watch TV, but I'm anxiously awaiting season 4 of Family Guy on DVD... Oh, and I still need collection #s 3-5 to complete my Twilight Zone set.
Season 4 on DVD..... you not get torrents? The first 10 episodes where hilarious, though i think there is like a month wait until the next new episode...
When we were staying in the hotel room for the month of January, I used to get really drunk, turn on Showtime, and watch episodes of "The L Word." Sometimes, that was better than porn. That was the only worthwhile thing about it, though.
