You gotta fucking love that rubbery 'grip sheet' shit they sell nowadays. I think they stole the idea from the carpet industry. I had that problem before (LCD monitor vibrating off and dying) but have fixed it since then. Heavier monitors (19" currently) & grip sheets seem to do the trick. As far as the spare change and beer cans go, I can assume you're referring to the first pic, one that I posted here a few years back, when I smoked. And, yes, the shit would litter the floor. Even today, minus the smoking part, I know not to place anything I adore atop a speaker here.
