I've got this friend (although right now I can't stand her) and all she ever does is brag. She does it in this passive agressive kind of way. It's like she's complaining but at the same time she really fucking bragging and it's super annoying. I called her up a few weeks ago because I was really bored and hadn't talked to her in a while and within 5 minutes, I was kicking myself for calling. She lives in a house that her dad owned and rented (he's a slumlord) and she moved in and then took over the mortgage which was like 20k and so she doesn't pay shit for her house. Her house sucks but she's always bragging about what she's doing to it and it always seemed to be shit that I wanted to do to mine so it makes me a little jealous and it's almost like some fucked up competition. I'll say something that I did and it's like she has to top it but at the same time almost diss me. Like, "Oh, yeah. I thought about that but (insert a shitty excuse here)." She hasn't had a real job in... I dunno 5 years and I don't know where she is getting the funds to do this shit. God, she gets under my skin with this shit. I am going to avoid her next time she calls because she wants me to come look at her new shit and it's hard to be happy for people who brag and annoy.
Dont let her get under your skin... some people brag due to insecurities... and some brag unintentionally because they are proud of an accomplishment. I catch myself braggin about something that was hard to get done. Like starting the business- I was a braggin fool. I never brag about how much something costs... if I paid a lot for something (rare-but I do have a few moments of stupidity) I lie and say I got it at a yard sale. My favorite thing to do when someone is braggin....is to poor mouth. Normally I have something TRUE to poor mouth about, and if I dont, I make shit up. I cant stand 90% of my female friends... its like "oh I like your shirt" ..."Thanks its a _____ got it on sale for 160$" I follow up with (even if I didnt) "got this one for $1.89 at the thrift store. " or sometimes I follow up with a brag myself ... a few months ago I ran into a friend of my sisters in the parking lot of Walgreens... she started braggin about her new car and started asking "does your car have ____" listing all the cool features.... I just said "no but mine is paid for" as I got in my car she had a shitty look on her face so I decided to overkill it and LIE like a mofo.. "so is my house ...and my tits" I said this because she always talking about making her boobie payments.. and she always showing them off... hehe in reality I am living in a shity rental house- but she dont know that. ANd yes my hot rood is paid for- only because I have shitty credit and had a high rate- so I wanted to get it over with. my spell check is not working... I am sure this is full of fuck ups.
There isn't a shirt out there that I would pay 160 bucks for. Starting your own business is a big deal. I wouldn't begrudge anyone that. You worked for it.
