Well, it is official, General Motors is shutting down the Pontiac brand. I am amazed, are they going to be phasing out GMC trucks too? (I always thought the truck thing was retarded), but hey, whatevah. I actually like the looks of the GMC better, heck I like the Pontiacs styling better than Chevrolets, but the new camaro might help them out.
Oh, left the 'link' out. http://www.foxnews.com/politics/200...ac-brand-announces-major-restructuring-plans/
and Ford stock keeps going up... woohoo !!!!!!!!!!!!! What was it rednecks said Pontiac stood for ... Poor Old Nigga Thinks Its A Cadillac
All 4 cars I have owned have been Pontiacs. :frown: They should have gotten rid of Saturn and Buick. Saturns are fucking junk and who wants to drive a Buick? Pontiacs sold well.
They can't be that junkie. I've had a saturn for 4 years now and not even so much as a flat tire yet. However my ex had a pontiac sunfire that fell apart on her before she was even through paying for it. It's nice to have a $4,000 balloon payment to pay when you can't drive the car. I was always a fan of the Bronco series myself. Had one for 9 years before a little old lady fell asleep at the wheel and struck it head on.
Saturn is on the block as well, I think that was the first one they mentioned getting rid of. They tried to sell it to SAAB but apparently the SAABish are too smart for that. I believe Hummer is gone too. Im curious to see how they are going to do the trucks with Chevy and GMC. Ford has jettisoned some of its baggage already, I believe they sold Jaguar, and they are the only US automaker that turned down the bail out. So they get an A in my book for effort.
GM owns Saab, dummy. Pontiac was the #3 seller. I don't get it. They should have gotten rid of Saab, Cadillac and Hummer.
I am a Honda fan... I think because it is missing one letter from spelling my name. All my Hondas have been good to me, those and my Rodeo...and my first car, a nissan pulsar. The worst car with the most crap wrong with it I ever had was a Pontiac GranDam. Second was a Dodge Intrepid. So I guess I am not an American car fan.
As far as I know Saturns are good cars I have one and its been great. Besides with GM the cars are really the same with different options and a slight different look. A Saturn Aura is a Chevy Malibu is a Cadillac something or other. It's a shame to see Pontiac's go though.
Fucking hell. I was waiting to see how they'd re-vamp that new Camaro as a Trans-Am. Always liked the Firebird design better than the Camaro. :frown:
Sorry Saturn people. Didn't mean to offend. I just looked at a Vue a few years back and it was a piece of shit during the test drive. I kept it overnight and it wouldn't start the next morning. And I don't like the way they are doing the Ion (and maybe other model's) odometers. I think Toyota does it on the Prius... anyway, that gauge cluster should NOT be in the middle of the damn dashboard. Who's retarded idea was that? In honor of Pontiac, I decided to buy a G6 when I find the right one. I had thought of getting something foreign but knew I would never actually do it. Besides no since in ruining a 15+ year streak. Ugly grills, funky designs and all... (yeah, I got an Aztek sitting in the driveway... only a diehard arrowhead would do that) I love Pontiacs and am sad to see them go. I feel a little lost. :frown:
The Aztec was something I liked, but when I looked into buying one, the dealership only had ugly colors. You dont see many of them around.
It's funny. You don't see them if you travel around, but my area, I see one everyday. They all came here, I tell ya. People who drive them like them. They ride nicely. I got a black one. It was completely loaded, but after my husband totalled his SUV, I gave it to him and he put another DVD player in it, so it's all decked out.
Do they still own saab, or have they pushed them off too? I was watching the news and they were talking about all the swaps and moves, I just got confused.....
It's for sale. I don't see why they couldn't have sold Pontiac. I guess it was a 'if we can't have you, no one will' thing.
