My soon to be X husbands dad is in town, first time in America... speaks NO English. For some reason I am stuck babysitting him while the X works. SO the past 2 days I have been hangin out with the baby and the 65 year old... 2 little sand niggaz that dont understand wtf I am saying, and they both just run around wild... . I can speak a little Arabic - but have forgotten half of what I did know, and NO french.... and well it has been REAL fun.

I took them to the Aquarium today... I got hit with a poop attack and tried to explain to the old Arab "stay here, I will be right back, going to restroom" did he listen... Noooo

so I spent like over an hour looking for him. Told a security guard what was going on.... was in a panic because he is known to wonder off and walk the streets. Well while I was looking for him, the baby poops, and I can tell from the smell...its good one. SO I head to the bathroom to change him. as I am walking into the womens bathroom, he is being escorted out. So we leave... with the shitie baby.
Get to the car that is in a parking deck, and I start to change him on the tail gate... this is the mother of all dumps... the largest pile of poop my son has EVER produced. The old arab is freaking out because this is unacceptable in public (NO ONE WAS AROUND at all) the baby has magically shit UP his back, it is on his shirt and shorts. SO I take the outfit off, and had a T-shirt in the car. Dress him and we go. The old man is still freaking out... talking fast, with a look of disgust on his face. Asks me to call his son for him, so I do... He talks loud and fast- I have no idea what the hell he is saying. then I get the phone. My X screams ..."You just shit in the parking lot..in front of my dad?... I cant believe you fucking >>>CLICK" I just laughed and hung up. I guess he does not understand his dad either.

The X gave me a credit card to use to pay for anything while babysitting the dad ... so when we left I was stressed out, and went and ordered 4 new GOOD tires and 4 new pretty rims. nothing ghetto, they dont spin or light up or anything... I get to pick them up Monday. I really just needed one new tire, but what the hell.

when I trade this car in, can I keep these rims for my next car, If I buy a SUV about the same size? I am going to ask to keep my old ones if I can... so I can trade it in with the factory wheels... save the fancy ones for the new car... can you do that?

Depends. Most lugnut spacing is fairly brand-specific, so if you are taking a wheel off a Ford, it might not fit on a Chevy. There are exceptions, though (for example, Jeep rims will fit on Ford Rangers/vice-versa.)

    You can always sell 'em.

Most after market rims are made for I guess what you could call "sets" of cars. Rims that would fit on say a Honda will probably fit on a Acura that's close to the same size, model, whatever. Same with a Chevy Cavalier and a Pontiac Sunfire for another example as long as they're around the same year.

So yeah you should be ok, the dealer should be able to tell you.

well dodo . I thought they all fit a size of car. like all little compact cars wore the same size... all big ones.. bla bla. I forgot about the big screw things. Hmmm maybe I will keep the Element for longer. Just drive the fucker till it is dead and save money.

I'm always confused about the difference between a wheel, a rim and a hubcap.

Wheel and Rim are basically the same thing. Technically all it has to be to be a wheel is round and the tire goes on it. The hubcap just snaps on the wheel, or like most hondas the lugnuts hold it on. A rim is just the shiny version of the wheel, no need for hubcap.

Of course some people call rims wheels and vice versa, back in the day they called them 'mags' and I am guessing because some were made of magnesium.

If your honda has a pretty standard lug pattern, 5on5.5 (which honda will be metric) it will fit on any car with the same lug pattern.

Dodge Ram (94-01) is 5 on 5.5 will fit Ford F-150s and Jeeps.

Ranger is 5 on 4.5 so the Dodge will want fit on it, the latter number is the spacing between lugs.

Older hondas all had 4x100 then the Accords and Preludes went to something like 4x112, the Civics and Integras still had 4x100. So some wheel manufacturers make 'universal' wheels that have a plethora of lug spacing options. They do look kind of funny (IMO) when they have 4 lugnuts and 8 or 9 holes.

So I looked it up, no need to thank me, it looks like your car has a 5x114.3 or in laymans terms (American) its a 5x4.5 (if the conversion is correct).

So, unless they sold you a set of universal wheels, your new ones should fit any vehicle with a 5x4.5 pattern.

Just a quick look shows jeep wranglers (97-0?) have a 5x4.5
